This has to make us more grateful for the investment made into our pitch over these last few years, we've still been able to get our games on.

It's also now becoming clear why Jake Young didn't score in his loan spell there, on paper it is baffling, with him being an all time great, but when the pitch is not up to scratch even the best can't perform.

 

As I understand it, at the match on Wednesday, Richards was the player talking in the suites before the match. He said he was ready to play but wasn't allowed to. I assumed from that his absence was a concussion / medical decision not to play him. I reckon the club medics ruled him out of Wednesday's match.

 

Games off, nothing will change that now. Everyone go outside and enjoy the bit of sun!

 

Tbh it’s easy to blame the ref, but apparently an area of the pitch was loose which is dangerous. If a player steps on it and snaps his ankle and it endangers their career then the refs to blame. As for the training session and making it public it’s tinpot by Barrow, if an area of the pitch is unsuitable you can cone it off in training you can’t in a real game, so it proves nothing. This goes for ourselves as well, but this is professional football with fans paying good money to attend, the clubs have a responsibility to make sure all facilities, pitch included, are up to standard. Clubs should pay less on overpaid journeymen and more on having good quality facilities.

As for comparing it to our pitch, if our pitch didn’t have loose parts then the amount of grass is irrelevant having bare patches doesn’t make a pitch unsafe, loose turf absolutely does.

Unfortunately the fans are the ones who suffer as usual I’m sure the players, staff and officials aren’t out of pocket.

I think this postponement doesn't suit us at all. Yes, we have a number of injuries, but we have momentum which is now suspended as it were. Barrow are in poor form, now is a good time to play them. We will now have played fewer games than some others in the pack to get in the play offs. I prefer not to have games in hand, but to have played and have points on the board. Also on a Tuesday night there won't be much travelling support to get behind the team, given the time and distance to get there.

I’d not seen this but backs up my comments, funny enough Barrows training session involves temporary nets that are away from the goal mouth. But yeah let’s all just blame a young ref and hang him out to dry.

 

Can’t agree on this one after tough draining match on Wednesday with little preparation time and injuries it’s not a bad match to have off

For the umpteenth time on this forum, the match referee says whether the game goes ahead or not, nothing to do with clubs . Both wanted the game to take place despite the refs decision, so how are Barrow to blame.
