All this 'analysis' is one thing but, we were playing BARROW in front of 640 City supporters and 1 man and his dog, hardly challenging..!!

I dont think Oliver is shite his record is ok, is he being played to his strengths and being given The right service, get the ball into the danger areas for strikers, sounds like we aren't doing that.

Losing Pierra and Vernam sounds like a blow now as we haven't replaced them and have suffered early injuries to compound the lack of quality in wide areas.

Passing for the sake of passing means nothing once again we had loads of possession but few making forward runs, they'll train all week with regards having the ball and forwards or midfield pushing forward and then not do it on a Saturday so frustrating that was a poor Barrow team IMO even thought they have 6 point from two games.

He added time on for timewasting but did zero about it. Sound familiar?

However in fairness they weren’t as bad as that shower last week.

    Todays takeaways

    Defence
Decent in possession, lazy out of it. Halliday best of the four

    Smallwood average
East did well whilst he was on the pitch

“Three…” All three were poor . Angol seemed disinterested and should have had their fullback on toast after he got booked…., No threat whatsoever.

    Oliver …Zero service

    Best two..Halliday and East.

Subs Young did well when he came on and was a real threat.

A game to forget …but let’s be clear Barrow won’t win anything, won’t challenge for anything and as a result, I didn’t rate them at all, but it just goes someways in explaining how poor we were?

To be honest Fordy there are a lot of areas that, for whatever reason, just haven't come together yet. As MH says, he (and we) need to see a big reaction on Tuesday - so far we have looked lethargic and without any real purpose re forward intent, this has solely been reactive and no proactive intent.
But Mr Hughes, its you we are all believing in to deliver this

If every ref added the time on for timewasting there would be no need to do anything about it as there is no gain

We don't really. Probably a reason to hang on to Cook.

They were alot better than Doncaster they actually tried to win the game and did. Barrow pressed well when they should, held a disciplined shape, played with urgency when needed and looked together as a squad we didn't.

If our players think that a reputation or a big crowd will get us out of this league they are in for a rude awakening. Hate to say it but so far Smallwood has done the sum total of zero to justify the hype in either game. He needs to shape up Watt was much much better!

Watt is not better than Smallwood, different players playing a different role so how can you compare.? East playing in a similar role to Watt is your benchmark .

Yes there would , players should be penalised via a booking, that’s the new rule. That’s the deterrent , to timewasting . What happens if the official doesn’t add on sufficient time? It’s been effective to run the game down in that case , and players get off scott free, just like Donny did!

Exactly this Broncs. 6 points and 6 goals from 2 games for a team that looked less than impressive and that have a brand new manager and 11 new players.
We have the advantage of having our manager in place for longer than them, and the majority of our new players in place from the start of pre season, yet we are the side that still need time to gel.
Someone make it make sense please.

I'm not overly concerned although can understand some of the comments considering how shit we've been for years.

Today was a bit of a strange one. Had all the control until the first goal and Barrow couldn't really get a foot in the game. Having said that, we created absolutely nothing. Walker is a huge miss. Without him there's nothing in the centre of the park. Gilliead and East aren't creating anything. Ended up being sideways and backwards for the most part because until Young came on we haven't got a wide man who wants to drive at his fullback.

On Oliver, apparently he's a striker who thrives off crosses into the box yet I can't remember a cross coming in from open play all game.

I'm more disappointed because we seem to have gone backwards a little bit since last season. Vernam and Pereira have gone and we're missing everything they gave to the team which in turn means the style is less effective. We pass the ball well for two thirds of the pitch then its all a bit of a mess in the final third.

Desperate for some width and with the current injury situation that's only going to be rectified in the transfer market.

    Gillliead is shite.
    Sutton is shite.

When these two are getting major game time you have to ask yourself if the team has really improved.

You didn’t mention bookings. That’s the REAL deterrent as opposed to adding time on.

But a deterrent wouldn't be needed if all the time as added as there would be no gain
