We look good playing the ball in our half, we can knock it around for a few weeks. Sadly, we can’t attack and we can’t defend. Goal keeper only touch the ball three times and that was picking it out of the net. Hughes can’t dress this up. It was sh1te

 

Where have you heard that. If true we must be the most unlucky club in the league with injuries. Or has someone put a curse on the club. It certainly feels like it at times.

Also, Pete Wild basically employing the Derek Adams strategy of 'you don't need possession, you need to score goals' or whatever it was Adams said.

6 goals in 2 games having been utterly dominated in both games in terms of possession.

That won't last forever, and Barrow can't possibly rely on scoring three goals every week, so expect them to slip down the table, but it's particularly annoying to lose to Adams-esque tactics when we're trying to distance ourselves from that style.

Convinced the clubs cursed really. If we had the entire Liverpool squad on our books I still wouldn't be surprised to see us finish 15th in L2.

Different clubs have different DNA. Barcelona have their sexy tiki-taka football, flashy squads and consistent CL football. We have boring football, underperforming squads, and a consistent ability to let down a massively loyal and passionate fanbase. I was going to go to VP for the Hull game but I think I'll just watch us get battered on TV. I doubt the loyalty points will be much use as the season goes on and reality sets in.

On a positive note, Jake Young looks great! Can he start next week?

 

well. one thing is certain. If Hughes fails here that's probably him done in football management, he was not getting the phone calls in the 3 years before joining.

That's rubbish news about Walker and it means that after 1 game we've already broken a full set of attacking midfielders for a 4231 formation and got another one banned.

I don't think we will get relegated, i just do not see how we can get promoted when every squad we build seems to lack pace, creativity and half the players are bang average and can not be arsed. We have a fantastic stadium and even better support for this level , you could not wish for anything more in league 2 as a player, its time they performed to that level.

Its why I am always reluctant to comment on signings until they have played a few games and we can see them first hand - all I will say is many of them were league 2 options in my eyes and to date thats how they are coming across. Was too early to blow too much smoke up Gents arse and just praying he has brought in the quality we need.
Hughes and Hodges know last season was effectively a free hit , now is the time for them to really start showing what they can do. Unlike many on here I would actually have taken another 0-0 today as first thing I want to see is a solid and organised unit, boring I know - so the outcome has shocked me. Together with the disastrous injuries this is far from the start we all hoped for
