    Yeah balls to ambition. Who wants to go to Villa, Spurs, Old Trafford or Anfield when you can reminisce about visits in 1969 to a ramshackle ground in Cumbria, have an easy day out to Harrogate or visit a new real ale pub in Bedlington. Ashamed of some of the fans and ownership of this club.

    Although I would like to see Harrogate or Halifax come up, I never imagined we would ever be in the same league as Harrogate.

    Its all good and well sayng we lack ambition because we're looking forward to trips to Barrow and possibly Halifax or Harrogate. But we are where we are and we have to take what's in front if us.
    I've been watching City for the last 35 years. And for the majority of that time we've been a mediocre lower division club. Whats kept me and the other die hards going during that time is trips to Rotherham, Bransley, Bolton, Bury et al. Not Liverpool or Man Utd. Those are reserved for FA Cup 3rd round draws.
    So, its all right saying we lack ambition and despairing about our perceived love of the mediocre. But its that which has kept this club going for over 100 years.

    The point isn’t who comes up, it’s the revelling in local games, new grounds to visit and old haunts from the 1960s. The club and some of its fans are ambitionless.

    Of course there is a plan. It's both simple and cunning and of course cheap. I'll try and demonstrate it to you in layman's terms ...

    1. With the palm of your right hand facing downwards, extend your index finger as if you are pointing at something. You may have to curl your other fingers into your palm
    2. Then using the same hand, extend your middle finger in a similar way so that both fingers are in a pointing position. You may want to tuck your thumb into your palm.
    3. Don't whatever you do twist and lift your hand such that your two fingers are now pointing upwards. That's not nice.
    4. Instead with the palm of your right hand still facing downwards, move your middle finger over the index finger so that it crosses it.
    5. Maintain that position eevry Saturday afternoon for the next three years
    6. Plan completed!

    Without going into more details, you now how the plan is intended to work in its entirety! ;)

    Cartmel is a nice little place, just off A590. 2 Michelin Restaurants, some good pubs. Busy on horse racing days!!

    Let’s hope it’s Halifax that get promoted ,at least its big enough to accommodate our supporters , whereas if it was Harrogate you would struggle to get in with their limited capacity.
