Bantamtalk's Flyover Protest via JustGiving

Why are you losing your shit over this? Seriously, someone made a request for clarity on why it had jumped. I reiterated that because someone challenged him for daring to question it and now you (and others) are getting uppity about it. Why?

We know the reason given was fuel prices. The point being made is that fuel costs have NOT gone up by 17% in just a couple of weeks regardless of what you claim your increase to be (10p a litre. I don’t think so)...!

 

No, Nick (owner of house) has been quoted an extra £100, regardless of whether he is asking friends and family to put towards “his repairs”. A hike is still a hike regardless of who pays it?

 

In fairness it was his suggestion that it was an easier and better way of protesting....but he'll probably do it around BPAFC and other non league grounds around the country as he stays away....

When the fly by happens could all the young uns film it on their smart phones and post to wherever they post and get all their friends to post as well....go viral....

I'm probably being pedantic here, but if Rahic is the main focus and is ultimately the reason we are protesting in the first place then shouldn't his name come first? He'll see it, and he needs to know that he's the crux of the matter.

While I have no issue with the motives and intentions of the supporters organising/contributing to this I think they are making a mistake in thinking that the flyover will be a story - I've seen more than one reference to the coverage the Man Utd one got but, the story there was that it was Man United, not that it was a flyover - they are becoming ten a penny now.

Rahic knows that he's not popular with the fanbase, a flyover isn't going to have any impact on him - I think any action has to be things that will have an impact. A "march"/protest at every home game, people in their thousands making it clear that they won't be buying season tickets next season, and boycotting any home cup game we might get this season. To me these are what the aims of any organised action should be and things that are more likely to attract media attention.

 

As Winner would say - Calm down everybody.... Quotes go up and down, especially over time, and especially when the company think they can make an extra buck. Moral of the story is, get the quote locked in and in writing with an agreed date when the offer expires.
i'm sure Jon is trying to be completely transparent with this project, and I'm certain he'll be posting some screenshots of receipts and contracts etc once the day is arriving.

You are right the flyover is not the story, but the start of a campaign featuring everything you have mentioned. It is no mistake, how can it be, anything that gets publicity for our aim to highlight our plight and to gain momentum.

I think it is a mistake to isolate our campaign to marches and withholding finance from the club. We need to build a broad base of protests that covers all supporters. Not everyone wants to march, or stop going to the ground, that is just human nature.

I don’t want to criticise any form of protest, as it detracts from the focus, and we have to keep focused.

 

It's like when the government puts 1 or 2p on the price of a pint and it goes up by 5p. It is what it is.

This thread is about the flyover protest, if you don’t agree with it fine, but can we just leave this thread for positive discussion and for those that are making a contribution, this constant carping from the sidelines is irritating to say the least. Plenty of other threads going on atm.

 

Lord Haw Haw can't, he's banging the drum for Edin & Rupp at every chance he gets.
I was of the undestand he would donate if we got it up and running, well @brisbanebantams its up and running and will hopefully hit the required amount over the weekend.
