i haven't, but you're expecting people to cough up more money without an explanation why they need to. how do they know it's not going into yours or someone else back pocket?

There has been an explanation. All is clear to me. I've seen an explanation in two separate places. I'm happy.

You're not going to contribute, so you don't need to worry.

I feel bad about not contributing because I know the organiser and contributers have the club at heart. But can somebody explain to me the benefits from this, tangible ones? Ones that'll produce a result worth £850? It's as if there is a movement to get this thing airborne but without solid reasons. If I get a good answer I'll chip in, if not, I'll spend on some posters

Publicity. Up the ante. Capture the match day media.
Build the pressure as Edin won't like bad press.

Best hurry up and get it done if the cost has risen £100 in a couple of weeks, it could be almost £1k by Christmas

We need to bring TCA into if it goes over, they are still sorting out the billboard. After that they will be crowd funding as well.

This is a fantastic effort from everyone not least Jon and NickW, it a few days we are nearly there. Good explanation on both sites for the reasons we had to increase. Anyone who has visited a petrol station in the last few weeks will understand.

But one bloke making a nuisance of himself in an Edin mask and an "Edin Out" t-shirt could do all that. Justify me the £850.

All right, the situation is pretty much dictating that we need to move fast on this.

Let's get a game locked in, because I'm hopeful the target will be met by the end of the weekend. We'll see.

If we can get it done for Portsmouth (week on Saturday), are people happy with that?

Alternatives are: Waiting for Oxford at home 24/11 or long into December.

Portsmouth are likely to bring a few, given their league position, and I don't doubt our fans will be pessimistic at best about our chances in this one. It would be pretty rich to blame any result on a stunt like this, but it is Edin, so who knows.

    Can those
please don’t feel bad, as I keep saying ppl need to do what they feel comfortable doing. This is about us as a fan group saying to the owners we are not happy about the way our club is being run, and we are prepared to spend our money telling you publicly that we want you to leave. Who knows whether it will achieve what we want, I can’t guarantee that it will have the desired effect. However, it is about building our protests. We cannot just sit back and let them do what they want with our club without using our power. In other words we are serving notice, and more protests to come.

We'll be contacting all the media outlets that covered the Burnley-Man Utd flyover (google them, there's a ton), and drumming up interest nationally.

Besides the crowd at VP seeing the flyover stunt, it will be flown from Huddersfield right the way over Bradford, so that's a lot of eyeballs and, hopefully, a lot of talk.

It's easy to say small scale stunts will have the same impact; they won't.

Besides that, the aim is to embolden City's frustrated fans into taking action themselves. Already, on this forum alone, the idea that there is an actual, solid plan that people are backing seems to have kick-started some action.

It's like Wimbledon season - everyone suddenly wants to play tennis, Tour de Yorkshire, everyone's a cyclist - if a flyover is possible and fully funded within a few days, it shows how far people will go to make their voice heard, and I'm certain yet more voices will be added to the clamour.

    It's a springboard start.

And if that's not good enough for ya, thank you anyway for at least considering donating :)

Did I read correctly that the flyover is a 15 minute time frame? If so does that include the plane getting to and from VP? or is that the time circling VP?

He makes a valid point though. A quote was supplied of £700. That is then increased by 20% just a couple of days later. Is it the company screwing us or did we misinterpret the costs? Was it always £700 plus VAT?

That's the time spent around VP.

The total flight time is one hour.

I think the original quote was from a few weeks ago rather than this week

Yes, happy with the selection. Didn’t Pompey have their own owner problems not so long back. They may even get behind the protests too.

Besides, the alarming rate that fans are staying away, League it too late and there’ll be nobody around to see it.

But what happened to the offer of a vote? Some may not be happy that they weren’t given a chance

He doesn't make a valid point, the cost hasn't increased by 20%, and the quotes were never a couple of days apart.

Stop filling this thread with garbage, please.

The initial quote several weeks ago was £600 + VAT. The crowdfunding goal was £750.

The new quote is £700 + VAT. The crowdfunding goal is now £850.

If you feel you can negotiate a better deal, go ahead. The floor is yours.

Ok, so it went up by 20% in just a few weeks? Point stays the same. Why has it gone up by 1/5th of the original quote?

Isn't the reason given an increase in fuel costs. I have no clue about prices, or price changes recently of aviation fuel so don't know how possible that is

I think somebody forgot to add VAT at 20%.
