It was very frustrating watching this game yesterday.
I understand the need for continuity after a good win on Friday but the way we started was pathetic and left us playing catch up against a team that doesn't concede much at all.
The only way we were going to win yesterday was to keep them to nil and it was proven.
Second half after the change in personnel up front we took control of the game and were getting on top without creating many clear cut chances.
The few times we did look like breaching the tight back line we lacked composure and having those with quality out of the picture miles from the goal.
IMO Donaldson, FCD, AOC and Canavan came out of the game with any credit.
Wood, even though he set up the goal for me was poor, Watt early doors was all over the place conceding free kicks and putting us in trouble, and ROD oh my god don't get me started. Control your area please!! We played 10 yards further back with him in goal during the first half.
2 home fixtures against teams we would be looking to beat and well so some pressure on the team.
    Lets see how they perform.

He gets so much stick because he’s playing the pantomime villain. I don’t think for one minute he believes half of what he writes. I can imagine him sitting there in his Y-fronts and dunking digestives in his tea stained cup, laughing at those who take the bait...

Thanks bantamdave41. After yesterday's win I think we're almost there. I reckon our promotion will be sealed on April 30th at Harrogate. You heard it here first! It's been great surprising everyone and, if we're honest, we've never been rated...under the radar and all that. On other posts on here I've often commented that I'd love for Cambridge Utd to be playing Bradford City in League One next year when people are actually allowed into grounds. Knowing my luck we'll come plummeting down from League One at the end of the 21/22 season as you get promoted up! Wishing you all the best....

Yeah, nervous about this one, I'd feel so much more confident if we still had their ex-goal machine Guthrie leading the line instead of Cook. :innocent:

It might be controversial but our best strategy might actually be to avoid losing this game. We have 9 games left, Stevenage have 7. If we draw then they'll need six wins in a row to even have a chance of making the playoffs. We could literally take them out of the picture by drawing. I'm not saying we should just sit back but sometimes you have to pick your fights.

Its time all this , we should beat this lot if we want promotion ,rubbish stopped. We have no divine right to win games , just because we are Bradford city. No doubt about it Stevenage will be a tough nut to crack and they will be favorites being at home. Most of the teams are very similar in the division, and anyone can beat anyone on the day.
Where ever we finish , is a bloody good achievement , compared to where it looked like we might finish before Christmas.

We're Bradford City, not Bradford. Annoys me a bit that does

Whatever happens with the Carlisle result it's going to be an exciting end to the season , rather than the end of us in the league (like some predicted). If we go on another winning streak there are teams above who are now faltering , those with recent form (like Orient / Stevenage) we can match and more. The only way is up for Bantam progressivism.

Nobody else below 50 has ever heard of Park Avenue so Bradford is the term the majority use, including the media so you'll probably just have to get used to it.

We have played Stevenage 7 times to date (2 League One, 5 League Two).

City have 4 wins, with 1 draw and 2 wins for Stevenage.

City have two 1-0 wins; the other 5 matches saw both teams score.

The very first goal, in the very first match between the two teams, was scored by Gareth Evans, in City's 1-0 home win on 14 August 2010.

The last 3 goals City have scored against Stevenage were all scored by Lee Novak.

Oh, and tomorrow's referee, Carl Boyeson, refereed the last match at Valley Parade to be played in front of a crowd.

Same team as Friday for me, if any change probably Evans for a bit more pace as I think we’ll be playing on the counter quite a bit.

Cook needs to start, not playing a goal scorer in his form is criminal even if the management team think he would benefit from a rest.

Thank god that's over, truly painful 90 minutes of football from both sides. Even the comentators had given up by the end.

If Sparks talk of not accepting mediocrity are true, we still need a fair overhaul. Keeper, 2 full backs, midfielder winger, striker, all needed.
