Frailties in attack, frailties in defence, midfield failing final delivery, doesn't bode well for our coaching regime. Was it last month when GB alluded to our lack of bite up front and spent a week on finishing skills? Well along with everything else, overall he doesn't seem to be making any noticeable progress. He always says that following abject performances, this great bunch of players readily admit their shortcomings and can be trusted to get back on track..Well they aren't are they GB? These recent games were a real opportunity to forge ahead, but we are still neither learning nor improving. A pattern is developing which is just not conducive to progression and although early enough to correct, I'm not sure that the present structure on or off the field are positioned to remedy. Had to add that expectancy and positivity is essential to a fan's diet just feels negative to be denied.

 

Reeves was the only positive yesterday, he absolutely ran the game. He picked up some really good positions in midfield but unfortunately nobody around him was anywhere near his level.

 

Second game back in and already looks a class above the rest.

 

It's so frustrating. Get Cooke further forward and weve got 2 midfielders who could dominate possession and play proper football.

Our wide players are a concern. With Ismail, we're seeing the inconsistency issues that previous fans have called out. And connolly is very limited - very fast, but a poor touch, mixed delivery and no real awareness of what's around him.

A quality wide man and forward have to be on our radar for January.

 

I think with the wide men they seem to be receiving the ball in the wrong situations, where they're faced up against two defenders. They have to be better at making their own space because teams have figured us out now and just double up on both sides.

 

Totally agree. I was thinking that yday during the match. The two wingers rarely receive ball on the half way line, giving them a chance to directly run, and hopefully knock the ball past, the fullbacks. We've seen Connelly has pace to burn, but there's no point in him having that, if he's only receiving the ball in the final third.

 

And already looking frustrated. A lot of pointing by him, trying to direct some runs. He played some lovely long balls into the channels, which unfortunately we're often read. Hopefully if he cements his place in the team, the other outfield players will start learning his game.

 

It was a poor display all round and we didn't create many good clear cut chances apart from the early Vaughan miss, that goes in we go on to win the game.
Unfortunatly after that bad miss we concede a poor penalty they score and we go in 1- 0 down.
For me Bowyer should/could have changed the formation because Vaughan was getting little joy trying to win areial battles aganst two 6 ft plus central defenders.

 

I'm chuffed to bits for the lad,its been a long road back and hopefully he stays injury free. Got a great reception when he went off. Taylor played well enough and offered more than the others usually do.The problem was the four in front of him. Offered little to nothing, whether that was down to Bowyers tactics or not is open to question. Reeves probed well enough but with Vaughan playing most of the match with his back to goal and having non existent service we have pretty much a non existent goal threat. No wonder the fans are becoming restless.

God thats a frightening thoughtt mate, a guy who's been out for 2 years or so gets his first full opertunity to start and he's head and shoulders our best player.

You will find anything you can to have a good old moan about.

 

No, like anything.

If a player hasn't played for 2 years and is viewed the best player in the team then that's highly concerning as it highlights recruitment over that period has been poor.

Would hate to work for your company if you don't understand this.

There were boos at half time and full time, yes.

 

Today was really poor. Bowyer will bring pressure on himself if those type of performances never mind results continue. Really poor.
Yet everything you’ve ever watched has been criticised so just like the boy who cried wolf your POV is worthless.
