Just the extra point with penalties and its been an interesting night as you say the kids have done themselves proud.

 

7-0 and 8-1 scorelines tonight tell you everything you need to know about this frap cup.

Glad our younger players did well in this glorified behind closed doors friendly.

 

Donaldinho was so off the pace of the game. Think we need another up top and maybe a winger and RB

 

Compared with the shite we had to endure over the last 2 seasons I would agree.

I agree. We need a quality winger/wide forward and a quality, pacy centre forward. I’d actually take Hiwula, he’d offer something different and he does bring a bit of pace.

 

One last thing on the game tonight, whilst we lacked anything going forward, I thought the team were extremely well drilled defensively in a way I don't think many, probably myself included, thought McCall was necessarily capable of. I think we will concede a lot on the counter, but that will be the nature of the beast of the way we play, but I'm more confident now of being able to see out a game we're winning, or grind out a result against an obviously better team, than I would have been before the last two games

 

If we all chip in your wages perhaps you could do the same?

my view on last nights game.

Excellent performance overall, very impressed with discipline in defence and general fitness of squad.

Thought sutton and pritchard did well, sutton especially seen as he hasn't played much.

very encouraging signs from youngsters especially sikora and shanks. But the other three lads I've seen last 2 games also impressive.

Hornby def not challenging ROD, however did make an excellent recovery save after his own error.

If we can keep the energy and belief in stuarts gameplan for the season could surprise a few ppl.

new striker is a must, need some pace up top. All 3 strikers we have similar style but varying levels of quality....

 

Could have done without this competition more than ever this season.

Sutton is sure to start and probably BRE, other than those 2, anyones guess really

 

Think you're going to be pretty close with this line-up. Possibly Staunton over POC and we could line up in a 532 with DMH dropping to RWB, French at CB and Ismail up front.
Also expect the other academy grads to be involved, will be interesting to see how they get on. Not overly bothered with this cup, particularly in the early stages but its great for some of the young lads to play this season and who knows how far they can get

Probably not far off. Although if we plan to make 3 at the back our main system, I think we'll stick with it for tomorrow too. Could very easily have DMH and Longridge as wong backs and French playing at CB

 

Stuart said in his post match interview he would be giving others game time, DMH was injured so mybe not ready, I would like both Novak and Guthrie to start they need time together to form a good understanding and partnership as I cant see Donaldson being a regular starter.
These sort of games give the manager chance to get others in have a look at them in a competitive game where the result is not that important, although winning is a great habit to get into.

 

I think Scales will replace Clarke in behind the strikers, but I’d think Watt or Cooke will be rested but we don’t have many options to rotate!
