Critical that our midfield plays well, reckon the battle will be won or lost in the centre

Our next 5 games are winnable.. taking 15 points... Newports form is mixed of late. if we drop any points over the rest of this month I'll be disappointed.

Apparently they couldn't do essential work on it during the short break, due to the Covid restrictions. Sounds a bit odd as it was when they were at their lowest - but it could easily be supplies etc. It was in their local paper

Is Matt Dolan any relation to Terry or Martin?

How I expect Crankshaw to look in our beautiful away kit on a perfect pitch

A few of the star players from their rise to the top earlier in the season were loan players who returned, Scott Twine been the pick who is now back at Swindon doing the business.
Dolan is playing CB in their familiar 3-5-2 formation so they are still reliant on their full backs with Josh Sheehan pulling the strings and Maynard up top with Paddy Amond.
Does our formation suit playing against a 3-5-2??
Would you put Cook or Rowe up against Dolan??
IMO it will be tight but as Bolton showed on Saturday we look a little vulnerable when teams attack from out wide.
4-3-3 against us and we dominate.
Could be a very tricky game this.

That system leaves them vulnerable to pace down the sides as well

So basically an away game for both teams which with the quality of surface at Cardiffs pitch will work to our advantage with regards our fast flowing attractive football

Yep, if we get a good result it will have been a fair decision by the EFL to help ensure the safety and welfare of players in light of the circumstances and heavy workloads.

If we don't it will have been an absolutely disgraceful decision by the EFL to basically hand this game to Newport by giving them a nice pitch to play on just down the road.

Every game is winnable but to win another 5 on the spin would be an immense achievement would happily take 11 pts now and see where we are at with 10 games to go.

No not really, Newport do like to play good football but they don't get much chance on their home pitch. Look at the goal they scored on Saturday and a decent surface at Cardiff, they'll benefit from a good surface just as much as us.

If the EFL have given them permission for the next 3 home games to be played at Cardiff surely they will have to extend it for the rest of their home games as the rugby team will continue to play a Rodney Parade, or are they hoping better weather will help bring the pitch back to an acceptable level to play the remainer of their home fixtures.

No idea mate. Just know that Newport have had pitch problems for as long as i can remember, doesn't seem capable of hosting two sports on it.

I've gone for a defeat here. First prediction of a defeat in yonks. The pitch will benefit Newport too and Im just a bit worried about our slow starts but more importantly, ball retention and movement.

Another tough game but no need to fear anyone nice big pitch and a good playing surface will benefit both teams I don’t think we will lose this match

I can't see them playing on it again, there was a game televised a few weeks ago from Rodney Parade and it was as bad if not worse than ours the year we had that FA Cup run.
