I agree with your sentiment Fordy but we simply don't have the squad capable yet. Unless we are willing to spend in January I think we struggle to hit the playoffs.

It will also take more than 11 games for Adams, not withstanding the injuries to key players he has had to contend with so early.
Listen to Songo'o's post match interview from yesterday to find out what Adams is about, if you cannot see it yourselfWilsdenBantam, Inspector, ROKERITE and 2 others like this. -

Cook isn’t that great either. The problem is we lacked quality signings in the summer.
Robinson is trying his best but sometimes your best just isn’t good enough.
I do feel though Adams needs to go two up top for a bit now.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...RCarol, Bantam-in-Greece, Inspector and 2 others like this. -

A quality striker would thrive here, and would make such a difference.

now we seem to have gone to 4-4-2 we have the issue we've had for about 3 years - cooke and watt won't ever win you a midfield battle, song'o is vincelot mk2 where he looks a better centre half than centre midfielder

Newport have been good. Started slowly but gained a foothold in the first half and should have been ahead.
Second half they've turned it on and have had a shot cleared off the line and hit the crossbar.
City have shown nothing second half. It's going to be a long old season.RCarol, Hulmebantam, Manningham bantam and 1 other person like this. -

Good point and well battled the team to earn it, We were much weaker in midfield after Sutton moved to the defense but the point was gained and will take that

Whether we like it or not there's no way a draw at Newport is a bad result Newport have a good home record and we have lost our last three away games in the league in fact Newport had the best home form in the division last season and this year they've only lost once at home in the league
Win at home draw away especially at the teams in the top half and you'll be fine
With two back to back clean sheets I personally think we should be happy with that outcome myself and I think it looks like we're finally back on track after a bad period of form
Now we have two games at home in a row Bristol Rovers and Hartlepool and both are very winnable if we can get six points from those two we will be in or around the top three
It's a bit scruffy at the moment but no way can anyone say the last two results have been bad with a straight face like it or not they're good resultsshoatsy, Idlebantam, trevor and 1 other person like this. -

First half was decent enough but the second half was terrible. Switch to a 442 just didn't work at all and we lost any control of the game. Gilliead absolutely woeful yet again.

So poor second half. Showed nothing and escaped with a point. Stepping off, set pieces floated time and time again. Lost the centre.
I accept the ultimate goal but I've now to endure a 5 hour drive north and that was poor to watch.
Football wise. So poor.
Just a note. Credit to Newport (casnewydd), total hospitality and decent ale.Manningham bantam, Rogered Tart, TallinnBantam and 1 other person like this. -
