Individually I’d say no, but they look far better coached to form constructive attacks, we had plenty of the ball and again didn’t look like we knew how to create a chance and just punted the ball in the box hoping for the best.

There really isn’t much in this league, I thought we were better than Cambridge and Cheltenham in both games against them and but for luck could have done the double over them, especially Cambridge when the ball somehow didn’t cross the line.

For me T & S improved us defensively although it was as basic as having a sensible formation and playing far more pragmatic, not having CB’s flying into the opposition box for starters! But offensively we don’t look coached at all, our set pieces are pathetic, as Cheltenham have shown a team can more or less be promoted at this level by being set piece specialist, and our attacks from open play look worse than ever, we often rely on a worldy or error from opposition to score goals.

The players have to take a lot of responsibility don’t get me wrong, and I’m looking forward to pressing reset yet again and seeing the back of most of them. But I genuinely believe a well coached team who isn’t anything special can get promoted from this level, that’s why our coaching set up needs to be a key focus in the summer and I don’t just mean T & S the entire back room staff need looking at. Because for me there are smaller budgets and teams with poorer individuals yet again well out performing us, and that’s been a common theme for the last 4 years.

 

I want Bolton out of the way so good to luck to them I hope they get promoted, it potentially makes the league that bit weaker next season.

Agreed. I'd rather Morecambe went up because its a little bit of the football dream that keeps us going.

 

Part of me thinks that, but I don’t particularly like them as some of their lot were arrogant tosser a when Parky went there plus no matter what debt they get into they don’t seem to care and just keep chucking money at it. Plus I can’t see some of their better players from January staying around if they don’t go up and we shouldn’t be relying on other teams not being in the league for us to get promoted from the 4th tier. So with that in mind good luck to Morecambe.

 

I’ve never understood that myself, if they don’t go up it’s because they weren’t good enough to get promoted from this league and they’ll be a 4th tier club like the rest of us. It shouldn’t matter who’s in this league we should be looking for promotion ourselves. I hope Bolton stay down, one because of the reasons I mentioned yesterday but also if fans are allowed back it’ll be one of the only stadiums not like a garden shed we get to visit next season.

 

They should never be 'comfortable' in their postition, once the play-offs had actually became a reasonable possibility the idea that relegation had been avoided should have been forgotten and they should have looked to keep improving and aiming higher.

Either way it was a massive mistake and when you have managers that can't get the best out of a teams best forward then the team will struggle.

 

BUT BUT they SAVEEEEDDD us from certain relegation!!! Hahaha I cant believe some people still think these two are the right men to lead us to promotion next season.

 

Put in perspective, this Morecambe team have the lowest budget in the division. And we still can't score.

 

Scoring a goal and not letting one in. If you care about that sort of thing....

 

I'd hate us getting into the playoff like Morecambe, much prefer finishing 14th playing total football. Whatever that is.

 

We need to hear from Ryan Sparks, not merely about having confidence in T&S to take us forward but does he expect them to deliver a promotion with the closed season signings because as has been said many times our last 15/16 games have been dire.
Come on Ryan lets hear from the club.

 

Questions have to be asked of how we approached the season and how it affected the outcome and eventual finish in the table. Yet another completely imbalanced squad, thankfully Rhodes has gone and that might be the difference next season. Unfortunately we are still stuck with an owner who has seen us drop every season during his tenure.
