Does anyone on here actually care what @Fordy117 thinks ? The only reason I don't have him on ignore is to remind myself how bad negativity is for my mental health

 

If we had played poorly against a very good side I'd take a point. We played well enough and had chances to finish the game off. I want to see us winning games like this now, not settling for a point when 3 points are there for the taking. I accept your points as it was the first game of the season but as the season goes on I want us to win these types of games, not draw them.

 

Agreed, but it’s too early to start wittering about dropped points, over the season of 46 games all we can ask / expect is that we gain enough points for a top 3 finish.

 

We need to win these two home games because there are some tough away fixtures to follow

We should win both, but if not, it's hardly a crisis. We've had a number of posters on here who are already concerned we 'dropped two points' away from home. One thing I can absolutely guarantee you is that we won't win 46 matches this season. Adams would be bloody annoyed if we don't get at least 4 points from Oldham and Stevenage. We probably will and better. But whatever, what's really inspired me throughout the friendlies and now our first league game, is our all round attitude and general performance - pacier, stronger, pressing hard, quicker of thought and more on the front foot since goodness knows when.

 

Possibly, although I still think we need one more up front who can actually challenge Cook for a starting spot.

The latest rumours surrounding away fans would suggest the first game might not have away fans in attendance.
Still awaiting a statement from the EFL.
Clarification pending but it's cutting it fine if you ask me.

The match falls mid 2 week Devon holiday for me so will be buying a ticket in the "home end"
Maybe the only way I will see my team this season (if other teams are less rigid in their approach to the situation)

Under normal circumstances I would agree, Mike but these are not normal times and things have changed in timing and cost terms. Don't take what I say here as gospel but:-
Travel by car - very difficult, the M5 between North Bristol and Taunton is a car park most days with holiday traffic, yesterday by 8.30 am the radio was confirming that and a lot of schools are still to break up! Two weeks ago a friend of mine came back mid week from Cornwall, his mate and wife left later at 10.00 am and got to Bristol by 6.00 pm. I also know my old firm have had great issues getting trucks out of the depot at Bridgewater with traffic. This will mean a really early start for there and back in the day.
Train - fares are hiked but can't give guidance, you need to check travel websites. To do it in the day from Wakefield where I go from, there is 7.23 via Kings X and Paddington, arrives 12.58 or 8.23 direct arrives 13.44. C

 

One of the few good things about being (slightly) deaf, apart from not being able to hear car or burglar alarms in the night, is being eligible for a disabled railcard for a third off.

Erm, yes and no. But stridently in favour of, erm, the showing of, if possible, though if not possible, then I would of course blame someone else. The EFL? Yes, them. They're awful. So anti- Boris and I all work so hard to achieve. Because I am your sporting leader, mmmm love all that fusball. One of my greatest concerns.
