Away Priority

I’m sorry mate but you’re wrong.
The priority scheme is a must to ensure fans who do traipse up and down the country don’t have to stress about getting a ticket for the likes of Villa, Chelsea, Burton, Fleetwood or indeed any other high profile game when they come along.
I remember back in 1999 I knew someone who’d been to almost every away game for the previous 10 seasons but couldn’t get a ticket for the Newcastle FA Cup game. How’s that fair?

No idea, but should that be detrimental to them getting points because they decided to attend on the day, I agree there will only be a couple of games where "priority tickets" are required this season, maybe buying the above ticket puts a few bob back into the club coffers as many suggest season tickets are too cheap.

 

That's what I suggested your loyalty is based on your previous seasons away attendances, 2019/20 away days are your accumulated loyalty points for season 2020/21.

 

Fans helping the club with their individual skills is nothing new, I remember the meeting when Stuart came back to manage us the first time at that particular meeting I believe it was Mark Lawn who suggested any fan who had painting, plumbing, handyman ETC skills would be quite welcome to come and put a few hours in and help the club, every £ less spent on the none football side of the business would be an extra £ to help the manager.

 

Maybe we should change the word loyal to Uber?
That why it can reflect the true status of those lucky people who have the time and money to be able to commit to attending all away games.
And its also likely that there will be a few happy clappers in there as well.

 

No what went on last season should have no bearing on this season.

Clean slate every season then new Ubers can get in on the game without hinderence.

 

You are correct that not everyone has the same passion, money or time to attend all away games but don’t criticise the ones who do.
What you cant have is any of those fans missing out on a ticket to a high profile game just because all the casual away fans deem it worthy of their time and money.

 

I do often for away matches.

 

I can both agree and disagree in one simple comment.

Anyone who travels to the likes of Exeter be that midweek or weekends has to be complemented, so I agree, but to then follow that comment up with "just because all the casual away fans deem it worthy of their time and money" is in my opinion a little poor, neither you or I know each individuals reason why they may not be able to attend all away games, it does not make them less of a Bradford City fan than others in your post.
It is what it is until the club find a better method than purchasing a priority ticket (although at the present moment the club get £25 for every priority card sold), and from the sounds of it the club are looking into the situation, will it satisfy everyone.............I doubt it very much.

 

People with the right skills offering their services to the club to improve the stadium etc. is different to the club getting in volunteers and getting them to scrub the toilets to give them the same amount of priority points as those who potentially spend 100s per week following the club up and down the country.

I don't think they would be elevated into the heights of Shipley Bantams or Bingley Bantams, but a fan giving his time to help in any way could be acknowledged, win win the club are getting menial tasks done the fans are happy their seats are clean and the odd few fans have their efforts recognised.

 

Good idea @Bronco, you can start with the toilets, a nice menial task for you, lol.

 

Wouldn't faze me mate the last 10 years of my working life were as a caretaker at a primary school, many times I'd come back for my afternoon shift it was 7am till 10am and 3pm till 6pm, and I'd see a sign on the kids toilet not in use when I opened the door the toilet was not a pretty sight .

I am a loyal fan thesedays but certainly not an uber fan.

 

What happens if a game with a small away end is the first game of the season? Makes the scheme pointless. I think that is why clubs do either a rolling 12 or 24 month period.

 

Part of the idea of a points system is to get people to buy in advance from VP as the club make a small amount of cash from those tickets.

 

They do alright out of the priority ticket 46 grand

 

That is on top of the money they then make from the tickets.

Maybe they will charge to take part in the loyalty scheme
