If they are not starting it till next year then it will not really kick in till late in the season or the season after when they have enough points to separate people

 

That is what they have to decide and make public before hand.

 

Are you suggesting that the further away the game, the more points are awarded? If so, that’s just silly

 

That is how some clubs do it, plus more points for midweek games.

 

The England travel club is cumulative, or at least was, which caused complaints of it being a closed shop now. If it zeros every year then the first few games everyone is equal which again could make the scheme pointless

 

Why? There are a lot of people who follow City home and away who have neither the time or the inclination to give their free time to what is a professional organisation. A points system can only work if the more regular of supporters gets rewarded.

 

No it doesn't, it rewards people based on their loyalty to supporting their club home and away. If i spent considerable time and money following my club all over the country i'd expect a bit more loyalty back than someone who cleans a few seats in their spare time.

 

Hopefully they will implement this talked about system in the coming seasons. Potentially you could purchase a priority away ticket and yet only go to one or two away games. Priority should be based on games attended, not because you have a golden ticket in your pocket.

 

I'd expect loyal fans that don't want to miss games would make a point of ensuring all loyalty points to be potentially accrued are done so. This is the thing about 'loyalty', these sort of fans go the extra mile to support their club and should be rewarded for this when potential 'big' games come along. And i don't count myself as one of those, i go to a number of away games but not enough to class myself as a priority.

 

And as @How has said what about the fans who pay on the day, if they produce the stub to the club there attendance on the day would be added to the system.

 

Fans don't pay for loyalty points, they pay to watch their team play. The loyalty points are a by product of their commitment, they haven't gone all the way to Plymouth or Yeovil just to rack up some loyalty points.

 

No it should re set every season.

That way its a level playing field for everyone.

Anyway when we are back in the championship our away allocations will normally be sufficient to handle the number who travel and this system will more than likley not be needed.

 

We probably only have 100 or so fans who go to every game home and away, some can’t afford to but that’s life same at any club in the country. Footballs a want not a need, and it’s not a charity. Those that go to most games deserve to be front of the queue, not because someone comes and helps scrub the bogs on their day off or because they don’t work at all.

Bradford City should pay for staff to do those jobs, just like those who travel all over pay the most to see their team and deserve to be front of the queue.

 

At Sheffield United I believe it only goes on your last 2 years of purchases. Problem solved.

 

Good idea @Bronco, you can start with the toilets, a nice menial task for you, lol.

 

Part of the idea of a points system is to get people to buy in advance from VP as the club make a small amount of cash from those tickets.

 

Wouldn't that be ironic....................lets say £25 a season .

 

I’m sorry mate but we had many genuine loyal fans who missed out on Chelsea because the ‘casual’ ‘day trippers’ were out in force.
It’s imperative that whatever priority system is adopted, that it protects the fans who most regularly attend away games and without them having to queue up for 5 hours in the snow.

 

And to add to my point, you’ve just agreed with me. People will buy one on the off chance we get a big cup tie away.

As I said maybe points system can help give first pick on priority cards for those who deserved one the most. Not just those who want on as they are only 25 quid

 

Best system is the one we have, Money is the best arbiter of ticket allocation and raises income, If they sell out to easy then put the price up to regulate demand
