Attendance Levels (Now with Poll)

Next season is usually dictated.by how you finish the season. Fans tend to have short memories so the swinging vote will purchase.on our short term form.

 

I'm not disagreeing with you.

 

It would show the supporters, and the rest of league two, the true level of apathy amongst our support.

 

Which is precisely why City will not publish them, I fancy it is the first thing Sparks will look for when the games are over and will shit himself when he sees them.

 

At the moment they aren't worth £3 a game. Poor fare being delivered.

This season was the one that the club have gambled on and it has blown up in their face. MH was to lead us to promotion but has instead dismantled a perfectly good team, got sacked and now we have GA in charge trying to piece together one of the most disjointed squads we have seen for years.

Right now, as you allude to, the club can take the credit for the admission prices and in general off the field income generation but that's it. Unfortunately the on the pitch fare that the club is producing in the league right now is so far short that its scary.

 

Being a little pedantic here but the definition of "attendance":
noun

1. the action or state of going regularly to or being present at a place or event.

Doesn't count if you INTEND to go but DON'T. So no, attendance figures are not true when they state what tickets have been bought. It's bums on seats on the day that should be declared.

I have a ticket for this afternoons game but am not in the country so am NOT attending or in attendance

And surely that would be the more honest way of phrasing it. Attendance means people who are physically there. It can get quite cringeworthy and embarrassing when those figures are announced as attendance.

 

I am old enough to remember the days when the club was accused of deliberately under cooking the attendances, allegedly for tax reasons.
Many 'big' games when you were wedged in the paddock and the attendance was given as far lower than everyone thought.
It used to bring out a good round of laughter when announced, just like now come to think of it.

 

Years ago the money from the gate was split between the two teams, I believe it was 1983 when the decision was made to let the home team take all the gate receipts.

 

No the announcement is clear as day….. clears throat…. And todays official match attendance is …
