The poll seems to be missing a “don’t give a shit” option.

The EFL requires all clubs to provide them with the so-called Official Attendance which amounts to the number of tickets sold for the match. That includes all STs and away fan's tickets and is what the club shows on the scoreboard. That's been the case for many years now.

The club also separately collects the 'actual' attendance which is really bums on seats for its own purposes including for safety reasons. It knows exactly how many are turning up to watch the games (and how many aren't!) but as we know doesn't report that anywhere. But we can all see the empty seats at every game ... but without knowing the exact number

Being a little pedantic here but the definition of "attendance":
    noun
    1. the action or state of going regularly to or being present at a place or event.
Doesn't count if you INTEND to go but DON'T. So no, attendance figures are not true when they state what tickets have been bought. It's bums on seats on the day that should be declared.

Even at £6 per game if the product on offer is rubbish we will haemorrhage support
How about put a winning team on display and charge more it really is basic economics
Can we discredit the club for not seeing this

Regardless of season ticket prices, there has to be a fan-base willing to buy them. Which we have in abundance.

Also last season home game v Carlise attracted 22,000 , all paying full price.

That's why majority of clubs in L1 and L2 look on enviously. And why most clubs dont adopt cheaper ticket policy because they still wouldn't shift the numbers we do to make it worthwhile.

We've had cheap season tickets since 2007 and fans haven't haemorrhage as yet, in fact were getting better support now than we did the first season they were introduced the same time as we brought Stuart back as manager.
The cost of season tickets has been done to death, as you know there are no guarantees in football, nobody complained when Parky gave us those 4/5 great season whilst tickets were cheap.

I'm sure the idea was to get a sizeable audience, then ramp up the prices for the Championship - when most of the people would have renewed and paid more.

Unfortunately we're back to square 1, and cheap tickets are the key to our crowds, rather than success.

Health & Safety ? It's all smoke & mirrors to upsell the demand. If they published the real figures, which whilst not obliged to do so, people would see exactly what our support is and I believe would be shocked.

Our 2 win the EFL Trophy were Man City u19s and Barnsley B so I wouldn't be reading too much into them. We only had 3,500 against Wycombe and lost. Possibly our best home performance this season was against Wrexham and that was 21,500.

Which is precisely why City will not publish them, I fancy it is the first thing Sparks will look for when the games are over and will shit himself when he sees them.

Why, who cares as long as the “ attendees” have paid. Ridiculous debate in all honesty, when we don’t report “how many are there“ to the taxman . He’s not interested!

But they haven't dropped even after all the crap we've had watch since McCall got us to Wembley, I honestly can't see any logic it charging fans £300 I'm not sure what the average season ticket price would be in League Two possibly getting 10.000 attendances then the knock on effects with regards food, drink, hospitality, but once again more revenue doesn't equate to success, sorry we'll have to disagree on this one Steve, let's hope Alexander can get the ball rolling and give us good football something to want to go to games for and our other problem's become less relative.

Yep. All part of Julian Rhodes' '5 year plan' to get back to the Championship in 2007. Still waiting, 16 years later.

As I've said before, there should be two figures given.
Tickets sold and actual attendance through the turnstiles.
Would be very interesting to see the difference.

I imagine they would have to provide the actual numbers to prospective "commercial Partners" as well. Either way, I can't see why regular fans get so bothered by the crowd numbers, its not as if we get or lose points if the 2 figures are not the same.
I couldn't give a flying one what they announce the crowd as on Saturday.

It's a failure of management and recruitment to not identify the right kind of character in new signings. Parkinson had his recruitment strategy right for us in league 2, lots of experienced pros and players who clearly responded to, and thrived under, pressure.

In an ideal world we'd bring through lots of our own youth, or polish youngsters released from higher up the pyramid - but it isn't necessarily the right strategy for us.

And surely that would be the more honest way of phrasing it. Attendance means people who are physically there. It can get quite cringeworthy and embarrassing when those figures are announced as attendance.
