Just to clear a few things up.
The K Block in it's current format simply isn't working due to a number of reasons.
The main one is the location, right at the back of the Kop hiding away from everyone, the acoustics aren't travelling, in my opinion they never have travelled well even back in 2013, I can hardly hear the Atmosphere from D Block, Midland Road.
Agree with what most have said regarding our current style of Football, if there's entertainment on the pitch off the pitch will take care of itself.
We've had numerous discussions with the Club regarding the location over a number of years but nobody wanted to listen or wanted to do anything about it. Ryan to his credit sat down with us at the start of the season and we went through a few things and said we would revisit it later on in the season.
Originally we wanted the NWC Lower, closer to the action, decent numbers, we could have made it our own, that little section would be ideal as proven with Celtic, Town, Palace and a few other clubs.
But, due to the idiots running on the pitch this season the club didn't want to chance the same happening again which is fair enough.
The next best location in our opinion is NWC Upper.
We will be using Blocks G & H, as discussed with the club this has the least number of Season Tickets so it doesn't inconvenience that many people, the 2 blocks hold 485 seats which is more than enough to start off with.
The view from Blocks G & H is fantastic, acoustics decent, lower down so the atmosphere should travel better, nestled between the Sunwin & Kop so it should get those 2 stands involved more
In regards to the Bradford End, we've already tried that a number of years anyone remember "The City Gents" worked for a few week and never really got going.
Plus I don't think the club wants to open another stand due to costings and away end overflow.
It's something a bit different, it might work, it might not, but we've got to try something.
Hope this clears a few things up.Bantamshell, bantamlad92, Pineapple Salesman and 7 others like this. -

I know....... let’s annoy hundreds of season ticket holders for no good reason!!!!
The atmosphere would be just fine if the football on show was exciting to watch.
How about that message is filtered through to boring Bowyer before causing fans inconvenience of moving seatsThe Granby Mullet, Booeybantam, JudgeMental and 6 others like this. -

The atmosphere was good from 2013 up until the playoff final defeat in league one, we've been on a downward spiral ever since so it's understandable that the atmosphere has faded. I honestly think the atmosphere will return if we see more success on the pitch.

Great idea. Get the K Block lads in there and let’s up the atmosphere, it’s been terrible for a long time due to a number of reasons. Sure some will whinge about them standing and singing but I’m all for it.

I've no idea what's gone on with the K-Blockers but rather than create confusion and annoyance for ST fans in the NW corner who sit there for their own good reasons, why not simply reinstate the K-Block flagwavers? Alternatively, why not maybe integrate them with the drummer and his mates at the back of the Kop?
Failing that, why not start to create some enthusiasm and atmosphere throughout VP by changing GB's safety first, must not lose tactics on the pitch? Now that the prodigal son has returned, GB is going to have to do something different to get the best out of our own Ginger Pele and that could be the catalyst for a better atmosphere throughot VP without creating inconvenience in the NW corner.Chad, elleb, Loyalbantam and 3 others like this. -
I have a few better ideas
1) Stop playing the absolutely miserable "Take me home Midland Road" before the game, the original would be far less dreary and we could just sing over it.
2) Stop playing shit football. Better football, better attendance, better atmosphere.CRASS, Tolly856, RonnieBrown and 3 others like this. -

I think it’s a great idea personally.
Huddersfield have a “singers section”, Celtic have their “Green brigade” corner, Palace have something similar.
For many supporters, especially / mainly the younger element, the atmosphere is what entices them to games even more so than the football.
I just hope this isn’t an excuse for some to light smoke bombs or flares as that is certainly not welcome at VP of all places.Pineapple Salesman, CL89, City loyal and 3 others like this. -

Although some people have attempted to speak on behalf of me and my friends in this section on here and other other social media platforms by assuming we will be inconvenienced, we are not against this atmosphere section and I am actually looking forward to it.
If any of the remaining members of the handful of season ticket holders in these blocks do not have interest in the atmosphere section, there is more than enough space in the North West Corner for them to move away. That being said, I wouldn't be so sure that many in these blocks will be put off by it.CL89, Rocket, bantamlad92 and 2 others like this. -

I tell you what would have me up clapping and singing, Doyle and Vaughan hitting the back of the net on a regular basis, does it for me every time. I think our Kop is great when it gets going, it has been a bit depressed of late, understandably. I declare injuries and sickness over time to let our lads off the leash

I’ll be joining.
Me and a few of my mates who haven’t been to a game together since Sunderland Boxing Day 2018 have arranged to get tickets for the NW Corner and start early on the beer and make a day of it - purely as a result of this announcement.

Hopefully the trial could result it becoming a permanent area for atmosphere
Atmosphere at home games is shocking..only about 25-30 people stand at back of Kop and without that it's nothing
To have a good atmosphere it needs a area where it reverberates all around the ground..
NWC is perfect as it can flow to Kop and Jct600 stands..
If fans don't like it then tough..This will hopefully encourage casual fans to attend more and get a season ticket in the long term through a good atmosphereCL89, Carts #CTID and bantamlad92 like this. -

It's worked reasonably well at Old Trafford. It does seem daft on paper but it spreads the atmosphere around more rather than it all coming from the traditional hardcore area and that better spread of atmosphere helps the rest of the ground get involved more through greater exposure to the chants and the general buzz
