Things might be rubbish but no way is it as bad as it was under Rahic. Rahic was out of control and his actions damaged the club significantly. At least Rupp took responsibility and covered off any risk during Covid. I’m not supportive of an absent uninterested owner but in perspective Rahic was the start of our downfall. Rupp will want his money back but that’s unlikely unless we get back up a league and into similar shape as we were before he bought the club. In the meantime we have this dreadful holding pattern.

Settle for what it is with no drive to make it better.

Yet he got promoted with Plymouth who have very similar expectations, and both times he’s been promoted from this league his teams have been one of the top scorers. Parkinson only got into the 50’s in terms of goals far less than Adams at his various clubs, sorry I disagree as long as a club is winning this mythical fit is irrelevant.

 

Wasn't there a group of investors interested last month, yet they got shot down in flames, abused and told they weren't right for Bradford City? So serious they were in taking us over, that Herr Rupp got out of his sportscar and made a statement! It's going to be very hard to find someone to take us over, when fans seem to know better, and our current chairman doesn't want to know full stop!

 

No Fordy , i am not a mug, neither are you , or any city fan. What i am is a realist. i understand where we are and why in the football pyramid. If i had the finance to do something about it, i would, because i have an affinity going back almost 50 years. As long as Bradford city are playing , i will be there , no matter who own's the club or how poorly we are playing.
I might not like the situation , but i am loyal to the club , not the owner.

If Adams had been unemployed then you might have been right in that he was the best unemployed man for the job.

He was gainfully employed and under contract. Taking him was a panic measure based on trying to employ someone Twitter Boy saw as the "new Neil Warnock". Someone whose promotion credentials in getting Morecambe promoted during a pandemic had blinded him.

Just one look at how dour he is, how dour Hopkin, Jeffrey's and Docherty were, and how all failed, should have screamed 'stay away from dour Scottish managers'.

We needed a straight talking, charismatic manager, not afraid to front up supporters and tell them why he did things rather than an excuse merchant.

A lower league Dyche who would tell it like it is and not constantly bullshit. A tactical savvy version of Stuart with some passion that would endear him to the support.

Instead we got Victor Meldrew.

 

Adams took Morecambe up with the smallest budget in the football league that’s a fact not hindsight. He was the best we could have possibly expected without the benefit of hindsight

 

Fan pressure would do absolutely nothing, because we wouldn't even know he had rejected an offer until Parker reported it. If at all.

For all you or I know he might have already rejected a dozen.

If someone makes an offer he can't refuse, he will sell. Until then he will bat back any offer made and it doesn't matter who protects or how, he isn't going to be swayed by what we think. That's reality. We are customers and the only way we can influence anything is by a negative financial impact on the club we love.

Owners, especially absent ones, don't care or listen to what we think.

 

He took them up in a season affected by a pandemic. Extreme circumstances, yes they affected everyone, but in a normal season morecambe would have been no where near the play offs.

 

To Fordy’s original question-yes. There’s very few clubs who have declined as much as and as consistently as us.

The one win in twenty was in league one after he took us to a major cup final and promotion hence the slack he got

Banners, flyovers, fan protests, none will work for a bloke who is never at games because he won’t see them.
It might have been @Dennis who said it, and maybe I’m paraphrasing him slightly, but the only way to make Rupp sit up and notice is to stop buying tickets, merchandise, sponsorship etc. At the moment the club is costing him nothing, he can largely ignore it, let Sparks get on with running it and check in once a month or whatever. There is zero incentive for him to sell. Stop spending money and then he’s got to dig into his pockets to make up the shortfall. That’s when he’ll listen.

Oh, and good luck getting a fan base half of who are terrified of Rupp leaving and the other half who want him gone to unite behind any cause.

 

Unless a miracle happens and we somehow start to look competent and get top 7 as promised, for the first time in 26 years I won’t be buying a season ticket next season, unless Rupp sells up of course.

As you say it’s the only way to let him know what we think of him by hitting him in the pocket.
