After last seasons debacle, I have being watching this season with a different mindset. On paper doesn’t matter early predictions were expecting us, Mansfield, Plymouth and Salford to be flying high. Look at table says otherwise. I listen to the moaners complaining think about it last year yesterday we would have lost as goal down game over. That’s why I think anything away a bonus. 6 away 2 wins 2 draws 2 defeats 8 points. The two draws were games came behind from. At start of season someone said beat Walsall Stevenage draw at Scunthorpe and Grimsby would we have taken it yes!! We are improving slowly and will take time. So let’s just get behind them and see where we are in May.

Balderdash. What an opportunity for an away win. Gifted to us on a plate by a side struggling. Gob smacked at such a negative attitude towards winning. There should be nothing but disappointment at that performance and result yesterday. Mindsets like yourself is why we will never achieve anything in the game, just settle for mediocrity.

Enlighten me, have I missed something from yesterday that we should be positive about? I don't get this attitude of not wanting to win when the opportunity arises? Draws cost us in the McCall's first season in charge when we should be winning them. I may have missed the point but I don't see any positivity in a draw against struggling Scunthorpe Who played with 10 men for 70 minutes plus?

We should have won on paper given the circumstances mentioned above.

    We didn’t, it’s disappointing, but it’s not a disaster.

We can put it right by winning at home come Saturday and all will be forgotten about.

I am struggling to comprehend why so many fans seem to think we should be battering every team every week. Is it because of our fan base?, decent budget, so called big club in the 4th tier, which is a myth anyhow. We have spent the majority of our existence in the lower 2 tiers.

Realistically it was always going to take more than this summer for Bowyer to transform the pathetic side of last season into a side that would storm this league

As disappointing as yesterday's result was against 10 man Scunny, we are still looking like a side capable of challenging for promotion, probably via the play offs.

Who says I didn't want us to win? Of course I did. Not least because I'd got us to win 2-1 in the prediction league!
Yes, I'd have liked us to be more positive when Palmer went off. Bowyer could have brought on McCarten behind the front two, or Henley at RB and pushed Mellor further forward, but if we'd shipped another goal by being too open and lost the game would that have been a good decision?

    Positives?
    - We came back from a deficit for the third time this season. We did that precisely zero times last year.
    - We didn't lose. Compare that with Walsall away last season when we actually surrendered a lead and lost to ten men.

I appreciate that these are small mercies but we are a work in progress, not the finished article. We have a large squad but very little quality cover. We've lost Devitt for months and Ismail was missing yesterday so our creative options are very limited. I think we all thought that a front two of Vaughan and Donaldson would rip this division apart. But it's become clear that, for all his graft, hold up play and skill at winning free kicks, Donaldson can't hit a cow's arse with a banjo from two paces, as we saw yesterday. And all we have as cover is an untried kid on loan. So it's going to be more of a struggle than we expected.

I guess it's a mindset difference. For me, last season was so toxic, and saddled us with so much dead wood, that I think it's going to take time to turn it round. People like you and Fordy obviously expect that throwing a half decent budget at it should produce instant results. We'll have to agree to differ. A point away is a point away. Yes, it was a missed opportunity but it wasn't a disaster and I can't get as angry about it as you obviously can.

Exactly, a point away against 10 man second from bottom Scunthorpe is nothing to be sniffed at. We could be Bury FFS.

Funny how you're trying to convince yourself that a draw yesterday was a good result. Reading your post makes me think you're not pleased with it.

Anyway, yes I do believe the more money you throw at something the better you should be. Man City win the PL all the time and have the highest budget. Man Utd who have only spent 100m less than City are doing shi&e and rightly their fans are not happy and it's mainly down to now having s shi&e manager in change.

We should be beating the bottom team home and away and certainly when they're playing with 10 men for 70 mins.

You say you would of had McCartan for Palmer then talk about them winning the game. When a team is down to ten men and certainly a team as poor as Scunny then we should be controlling the game.

You sit there on a rainy Sunday trying to make excuses if you think it's going to make your day better but for me it's 2 points dropped and a failure from our shi&e manager yet again.

Terrible result no getting away from that, but after the dust has settled this is how I see it. Our last 4 games we have started to get a settled side, and are keeping the ball a lot better, I’ve no doubt our last 4 performances were far better than our first 7.

Also it’s fine margins. Our last two games Mellor has made a mistake in both games that was easy avoidable and has cost us a goal. And Donaldson has missed sitters in both, if them things reverse we probably hit Carlisle for 5 and comfortable beat Scunthorpe.

The odd crap result will happen but if performances keep improving as they have and we are more clinical, and cut out the odd silly error no reason promotion isn’t on the cards.

Can’t believe some blamed Bowyer yesterday, when it was as clear as day it was individual mistakes that cost us.

I don't expect instant results and for us to be walking the league. I'm talking about yesterdays game. What a great time in the year to play them and then they hand us 3 points on a plate and can't take advantage. The lack of ruthlessness in the teams approach is what I'm questioning. A team lacking in confidence playing with 10 men their keeper had hardly anything to do. How often throughout the season we going to get handed 3 points like yesterday away from home? "A points a point away from home" That statement works playing against a stronger side and 11 men for the full 90.

It's a disappointing result, but I'll make a couple of statements.

I don't think Scunthorpe are genuinely one of the bottom sides, and will finish around midtable.
We absolutely did dominate possession, even if we didn't create much, I don't think that makes the performance any worse than 'disappointing' - some of the terms used to describe the performance are simply nonsense.
We actually had the chances to have won the game, albeit narrowly.

On that basis, I'm with those that feel a little let down, like we dropped a couple of points that we should really have won, but it's not the end of the world, our performance level hasn't necessarily dropped, and we move to the next game where we're playing one of the better sides without a couple of key players.

If we can beat Swindon, it shows we have a little bit of strength in depth.

A point against a poor side who only had 10 men is a poor result. The manager isn't happy and the players aren't happy with the result yet some fans are? Crazy stuff.

I don't think anyone is happy with the result but its also not the end of the world. This is actually a good time to say #wegoagain. We've a settled 11 now, a good option in Ismail who I think would be best kept as a supersub as his pace and trickery against tired legs has worked a few times already. Front two and poor concentration let us down which aren't massively things you can legislate for, given we spunked most of the budget on our forwards and you can't coach someone not to be an idiot (NKP springs to mind, good defender but patently thick and needed someone alongside him with a brain cell).

Win at Home. Draw Away=92 points and promotion.

The league is a marathon and we are only just under a quarter of the way in.

The home results against Cambridge and Forest Green are more concerning!

Why do people have this attitude of entitlement?

We cant be perfect, this sort of thing happens all the time in football. Leeds lost to charlton after having more chances and more possesion...

Just a bunch of babies with this stupid attitude that we have to pester and cry whenever a result isnt a win. Ludicrous.
