Once again you are completely missing the point or just replying for replying sake, I've even spelt it out in bold in my reply to Steve, we were talking like for like with regards the time period before the start of the relevant seasons when the vast majority thought that squad was good enough to challenge for at least a play off place.

I must admit I didn’t follow the last part Dave, unless you’re saying a strong squad at this point last year counted for nothing. As a club, any club, you’d rather be at this point of the pre season with a settled squad and main targets secured I would hope.

My point is that a week before last season started we had what looked like a very strong squad especially up front, many saying the capture of Zeli Ismail from Walsall was another great signing and look how that turned out, that's the point I'm trying to make.
I may be totally wrong but I dont get that we are throwing the towel in before a ball is kicked.
The last point is very fair comment it would have been great to have had our transfer business done.

Carlise lost 4-0 to Liverpool under 23's..Pre Season means nothing barring fitness but Bolton still are a better them/squad than us currently.

Luckily, for us we have over 4 weeks left of the transfer window but so far this Bradford City Squad is poor. I am not being negative, I am being true to myself. You should try it sometime.

Last season ON PAPER we had a team (with a few exceptions) capable of tearing up the league just the wrong manager that became apparent quite early in the season (I know we spent a lot of time in a play off spot) but the powers that be failed to react soon enough This season we have a manager who loves the club and has his last chance to win something as a manager but ON PAPER a weaker looking team when you compare like for like in key positions it becomes apparent, we may get a surprise and the team gels as a team unit without any "stand out" players but at the minute the squad is paper thin and we are too late in any future transfer dealings to hit the ground running
Like you I have invested a good sum of time and money in the club and have been through the bad and the very bad times but this season coupled with all the Covid regulations have not renewed
I may be wrong but mid to bottom half are my expectations and will remain so until we get more forward thinking from the top there to me is where the problem lies
