Rumour on twitter that one of the strikers from higher leagues that we are trying to coax here is Kwesi Appiah from Wimbledon. Would be extremely underwhelming if true.

 

Comment from a Wimbledon fan:

BBC reporter who covers league 1 and 2 has told me this morning Wimbledon def want to ship out one of their strikers now Ollie Palmer has joined them - when I asked about Appiah he just grimaced!

 

He is a non league player at best, We must be more ambitious than this although Stuarts ability in judging players is very questionable so could be true

I would like to think most footballers have a good game from time to time and it helps that in these days it is often on film. I would however perhaps take the impartial view of someone who has seen him play a number of times as being a better judge! (but yes he had a couple of really good moment in the game you attached)

I think very questionable is generous. I can’t think of one signing he got right in his last spell. Abbott got us wyke didn’t he?
Thorne was his best but I am struggling.

Very true Trevor, I couldn’t understand the fury in his last spell with us when transfers were taken out of his hands to let him concentrate on the football side. He has a poor record on signings and I thought it was ideal for Abbott to do the negotiations and scouting.

 

But weren't the fans up in arms over Rahic and Abbott identifying players? With Stu's track record and Bowyers absymal business maybe it wasn't too bad idea looking back.

Appiah sounds utterly horrendous. Hiwula I could live with, Agaard would be 'ok'.

Thankful we can't go to games so I'm.pretty much past caring too much. I have little hope for this season so hopefully the lads surprise me.

 

Abbott did indeed get us Wyke and got a good deal selling Hanson, but I don’t think McCall approved of it as he had a face like a crushed bucket when the deals were going through on that dvd documentary.
