That's not the point. As you said, Lincoln managed to get their loanees in before the start of the season because they have a better relationship with some PL clubs than we do. Therefore simply asking for a loanee or two from PL clubs we don't have a good relationship with is unlikely to result in the most positive response. Somebody at the club should be forging better relationships with PL clubs in the way you suggest Lincoln does. And I don't see anybody doing that.

Four new players! Where have you been to miss that?

Oh yes, and a new owner with deep pockets and long arms as well.

    :D

It certainly a mixed bunch, nothing like the lads he inherited from Phil Parkinson.
Unfortunatly this is usually the situation with regards the new manager, if you remember Phil Parkinson was left some poor players and he managed to keep us in league football, season on season he brought his type of players into the club not only lads who he knew could play, but also the type of player who wanted to be here and bought into his plans going forward.
Sadly it doesn't take long to fall from grace with the wrong managerial appointment or owners who have little or no knowledge of what's required to run a football club.

A new CEO??? Please tell me Rhodes has left the building?

Outside of City if Boris Johnston isn't the PM I will buy all Bantam Talk posters a crate of beer or Ale and throw a party when possible.

Rhodes, Rupp and Johnston all leaving would be a dream plus 4 quality players..damn.

On that note, City need to build some bridges with Burrrnley, they play some pretty basic football and are just down the road.
They should be able to loan us their youngsters to get game time and if Dyche has had an influence on them, they will be solid defenders and a handful as forwards.
Tell 'em edin has left the building.

Hate to say it, but McCall is probably not as well connected as you'd like to think..

Our involvement might just be just that, the start of a relationship with a Premiership club, if if it is then they might want to get their players fit so they will get games at their new club from the off.

Yes I get it with regards Lincoln getting their loan business done early, maybe this is the start of a new relationship it is something us fans can quote our opinions about but we dont know the situation these loans are being lent to us.

less than 48 hours ago, McCall states "who are we to put pressure on clubs to send us their players." today's press conference "we've upped the pressure even more on teams we need to hear from." ridiculous.

Yep, nothing doing with Rangers or Sheffield United or Everton which is a shame.
Everton have a good reputation of getting in good youngsters, keep an eye on the name Butterfield.

We never had a better chance of striking a relationship up at Burnley than when Dave Baldwin was COE there.
We know all about the Hendrie situation and before that Dave told City they could have Agyei who eventually went to Coventry I believe I Stuart's second time at the club.

So where's that news about the Palace lad come from then? It's been covered by quite a few social media threads, the T&A plus someone on here who says its "more than just a rumour".
Has someone just been making it up then?

true. people seem to believe that because he is well known to bradford and glasgow and was a decent player in his day that most players would want to play under him.. the truth is that, a lot of the players coming through at the moment probably don't have much of an idea who Stuart McCall is. to them, he is just another guy trying to sign them.

It's called playing a game mate.

Send info to the yes man Simon Parker and other yes people to make out it looks like things are happening then as we edge closer to the end of the transfer window we don't end up getting anyone our we get a player thats Guthrie standard...crap.

Unfortunately we need a hell of a lot more than a 17yr old kid from London to turn our shower into a challenging side.
I remember seeing Agyei playing against us on his debut from Burnley can't remember who we played and he literally tore us a new ass hole, I was thinking then why did we never look at him, and we didn't even try get him at the end of the season when he was available, pretty much sums up our transfer policy which relies on getting lucky.
    An absolute recipe for disaster.

It could be generational thing too, there's a lot of younger managers now days who either played together or against each other.

We were offer Agyei when Dave Bladwin was at Burnley we didnt take up the offer and he went to Coventry, hes hardly carved out a great career so far, just goes to show one swallow doesn't make a summer.

I have no idea. Maybe a ploy in the media to get agents to phone us about their players? Saying we are desperate for a striker?

I know this might sound a bit daft but I am almost pleased we havent got anybody in yet after Tuesday (and probably wont before the weekend) because I am 99% certain they would be desperation signings to appease the fans after the Lincoln debacle. My honest feeling is there has to be action by this time next week but Stuart is right to hold his nerve a little longer and follow his instincts on who is right for the club - and the players who were so weak on Tuesday HAVE to be the ones to put it right on Saturday, as we cant change the lot of them!
