    Whenever I think back to our League 1 relegation season, the 3 players that epitomise it for me are Wright, Akpan and AOC.

    AOC was always the better of the O'Connors, He was let go on wages not ability, We would be better at the back if we still had him here,

    A O’Connor isn’t as good a central defender as p O’Connor he’s more versatile making him a decent signing for a bottom half league one team

    At his best, AoC is good enough for L1. But he has at least 1 bad game for every good one over a season, throws the towel in when it matters and doesn't seem able to lead in adversity. He was a central figure in a team thats performed poorly ever since he arrived. I'm glad he's moved on, and will never forget the game in the L1 season when we played Portsmouth away and lost 5-1. After the 4th or 5th, RoD lambasted the defence and AoC turned round and laughed.

    I think I would have laughed at ROD if he had let 4 in and then started having a go at everyone. I was at that game and as usual it's never is fault. ROD is like Dracula when it comes to crosses. It was the same yesterday, doesn't command his six yard box. Good shot stopper though.

    Ability wise he was more than decent but mentally very weak and was never, ever a player you need in the trenches.

    Morecambe will find that out later this season when they lose a few in a row.
