The grandkids piggy banks will have to be raided for me to match Stefans £2-3 M.
I would hope with Mark Hughes being our manager he will still have good relationships with previous clubs he's been involved with, we saw yesterday how 2-3 loans can make a difference to a club like Mansfield, but yes I'll pay more for my season ticket if our owner see his investment would appreciated the higher up the football pyrimid the higher we get and possibly give Hughes the best player budget on league two.

 

If we have any ambition, next season's budget MUST be the highest in Lg 2 not amongst the best six or seven.

 

There's a reason manager after manager fails. Hughes will have a plan but if the club don't back that plan we are back to square one.

 

This idea that Cook is overweight is blown all out of proportion. Nobody mentioned his weight when he was scoring regularly. If people look closely he's actually carrying very little weight at all.

 

Cook is a natural finisher but the rest of his games is poor he would be+better playing off a target man or at least someone to take the weight off him. On crosses he struggles to get off the ground there was one perfect cross from Foulds I think second half meat and drink to a good centre forward Campbell would have broke the net with it. But he was underneath it and it happens all the time

 

He was very unlucky with the header second half, the keeper has pulled off a blinder. Can't disagree with your post.

 

Cook shouldn't be wrestling with defenders for 90 minutes every week hoping to create a chance by bringing down the ball, we should be creating chances for him in the box at least 1 percent of the time

Better (any) wingers can improve his usefulness next season

 

Blown out of proportion is a good analogy but seriously I was close to the touchline at Exeter in the opening game and saw Andy close up on several occasions and he had no gut on him then. Yes he will probably still score given opportunity (and a bit of protection from the officials). I thought he worked hard yesterday and never gave up but after half an hour he was blowing out of his arse and it is bound to affect his sharpness.
I like the guy and I would like to see him with good support players around him but maintaining his fitness/sharpness a bit better.

No it doesn't. It just needs to be competitive. Salford are a case in point, splashing the cash does not win you promotion. It requires a balance of a strong budget and a clear strategy behind it. Oh, and pinch of patience from the fans.

 

Patience from the fans? The fans are just about the only part of this club that are actually doing their bit.

How about patience from the CEO that's now had 4 managers in a ridiculously short length of time at the helm?

Striker is the one position I would like to think Hughes is over qualified to assess. Cook is by far and away our best striker but that being said he is 2 stone overweight for a professional footballer, I am 42 years old and the guy blows like me when he runs 20 yards. Our other (hard to call them that) striker are just shite as I said i would expect it’s the one position Hughes will be able to pick and if cook wants to play a fitness regime is more relevant than any other training for him.

 

He put weight on after the Covid enforced break around Christmas IMO. No way of proving it of course, as its subjective and we don’t get printouts off the scales, but his performances are suffering and his goals have dried up. He can’t last 90 minutes, which is unacceptable for any professional footballer.

Was there even an 'Adams Out' chant? I don't remember that, I just remember growing discontent.

It wasn't anything like as vociferous as it was with Bowyer when the City fans had had enough.

People keep saying "he had no choice" and "it was the right thing to do", but I think we bottled it a little bit on this one, which is a recurrent theme with Ryan.

It's probably why all his decisions are framed in a 'saving his/Rupp's skin' light.

 

You clearly weren't at the Orient and Exeter games then if you didn't hear any chants aimed at Adams
