Complaining about people wanting to do whatever they want with their sexuality is not about preventing anything though, is it?

I think this might be the dumbest thing I've ever read on this forum, which is really saying something. Woke doesn't exist and I never hear anyone use the word (including me) when I go about my daily life in you know, the real world

Woke doesn’t exist? Christ. You really have enclosed yourself in a dystopian leftist fantasy world haven’t you.

I’ve got news for you. Those ‘dumb things’ enlisted are the real world, pal. And not everyone is on board.

You're right, you can be pro or anti woke but to deny it's existence is just bizarre and unreal..

Nobody I've ever met in my daily life of any political persuasion uses the word. Believe it or not I have mates who have a range of opinions and not one of them ever says it, even people I come into contact with in my area of work (and I work in hospitality so I meet a lot of people) never mention it. So where is any of that guff the real world?

Claiming people want there to be 78 genders is bizarre and unreal, do you put acid in your cornflakes or something

I did earlier in the thread.

The definition of being woke (in Britain) is making life as inconvenient, difficult and/or frustrating as possible for the overwhelming majority [native] demographic in order to pander to [any] minority demographic's demands.

Generally speaking people don't speak about sensitive topics to strangers in areas of hospitality. Seeing as though you claim to work in the sector you probably should know that.

So you've never sat at a bar and put the world to rights over a pint? I also don't think half of the nonsense you're spouting classes as sensitive

I think there's merit in this discussion, probably deserves a thread. As a single parent, I'm definitely feeling the pinch just now. Diesel alone costing me about £300/month. Food is going up, heating and electricity etc. But as Tony says, restaurants are still trading, holidays in full swing. I suppose some holidays were booked and paid for months ago or even a couple of years ago if Covid had an impact.

Agree. I think the term crisis is a bit sensationalist, if not easy nit-picking by Starmer at the Tories.

Most people are able to cope with what is only a small % rise in costs, and for most it means one less trip to the pub or day out per month, as opposed to choosing between eating and heating which the media are claiming is commonplace.

Everyone I know is feeling the/a pinch as a result of rising costs, but nobody to the extent to call it a ‘crisis ‘.
