American-Style Opinionated 'Anti-Woke' Media Failing in the UK

    I'd say it's not a surprise, but actually it is slightly pleasantly surprising after all the nonsense surrounding Brexit and the last elections.

    Here are a few notes from this article, which suggests GB News, this Fox-style, celebrity-driven, opinionated 'anti-woke, anti-cancel culture' media is underperforming.

    “Piers Morgan Uncensored” has consistently shed viewers, from 317,000 overnight viewers on launch day, to less than 60,000 just over two weeks later. Wednesday’s episode received an average of 44,000 viewers, according to ratings body BARB. In comparison, a repeat of digital channel Quest’s “Salvage Hunters,” where people discover rusty old objects, received on average three times more viewers.

    Then there’s GB News... It too started with promising ratings of around 336,000, beating BBC News and Sky News in its time slot, but now rarely breaks through 100,000 in primetime.

    Yikes.

    In an interview with Press Gazette, the news network claimed that TikTok was one of their most popular platforms, where it has more than 200,000 followers. Yet in comparison, a TikTok account of a British man feeding his pet seagull currently has 3.2 million.

    Hopefully the UK continues to keep the door shut on biased news media.

    I’ve never watched any of the “anti-woke” news channels in any length, but I have seen plenty of clips shared far and wide on social media, which is probably the point.

    A tip that made my life better was to not watch the news channels at all. Instantly cuts half the bullshit out of your life.

    The advantage they have other the others is that most people who still actually watch TV these days believe everything they see or read and these outlets are the ones with the biggest numbers. Honestly that.google box that everyone has in their front room was one of the worst things ever invented, it allowed the masses to be controlled without ever realising they were. Easiest way over the last few decades to spread fear and encourage division with divide and conquer tactics.

    Have you ever seen our Harry Gration doing just that on the BBC or Amy Garcia etc? Your comment is laughable that the BBC encourages division with divide and conquer tactics.

    I'm no fan of Piers Morgan whatsoever but I actually heard a recording of that whole interview on the radio. There was one complete c#nt in that interview but it wasn't Piers Morgan

    Fair point.
    The context was ...roughly...a feminist event was taking place at a statue of Emmeline Pankhurst in Manchester. It was invaded by trans rights activists dressed like terrorists in black balaclavas and I think there were some assaults. The interviewee, again,hiding his/her identity was supposed to be defending the activists

    So you think the BBC (your example) is there to simply:
    "Easiest way over the last few decades to spread fear and encourage division with divide and conquer tactics."
