I get what you're saying.
The feeling of going back to league two after flirting with the championship, after watching similar sized clubs have more success. It pisses you off, it pisses me off.
However, feck rahic, feck the crap currently here. feck all the ill feeling.
You, me and everyone else bleeds Braford City.
We'll go down, but the bastards won't drag us down.
Footbsll isnt a museum, it changes quickly, years, seasons pass quickly.
What shit squad we have now, will be a squad to be proud of soon.
Man Utd will never hurt, nor will Man City or Liverpool. That's what sets us apart.
Take great pride in what and who you are, you're unique as a Bradford fan.

Like a lot on here, I no longer live in the Bradford Area and I would have no reason to visit the City itself, if it wasn’t for Bradford City.
I guess my affinity is not limited to the current football team, who usually have a short time at the club before moving on. None of the current squad have progressed through the youth system (Devine appears to have totally stalled) and l anticipate that Butterfield the only local born player, will be off at the end of the season.
The surviving owner of the club is an anonymous German, who appears to have been ‘suckered’ by his banker into buying the club. Apparently he has little interest in football and no historic connection with Bradford City.
So living away from Bradford for virtually all my adult life, then I could have drifted off (hell Man City are only ‘up the road’).
I guess my affinity is to a sense of belonging. It is where I am from, if no longer living there. A sense of identity, roots and origins.
When I visit, I see a number of friends who I would lose touch with otherwise. Go into a City Centre pub, again something l would rarely do now a days.
Family who come with me, all live out of the area, and away from me, so it is an opportunity to get together with them and also visit relatives who live in the area.
Yes the football is totally depressing at the moment, and the club is still reeling from the toxic reign of Rahic.
However what we have experienced, is far less than some clubs, such as Blackpool. A huge number stopped going when the Oyston’s were there. So to lose an affinity because we are in a ‘bad place’ at the moment, seems very sad to me.
We are not a ‘champagne’ club, which is virtually guaranteed success, but one based on gritty reality. So when the ‘good times’ come, they feel even better.
While the club is in the football league and l am well enough to go, then l will. Yes l guess l will from time to time have a moan, because that is all part of life.
So I have renewed my Season Ticket, as l am not going to quit, because we are performing so poorly. This season is probably finished now, we need a huge clear out and to slowly but surely rebuild on the pitch. That is more likely to happen if the support remains reasonable.
Look forward, to the future, as you never know for sure, what it holds.Rudie, Ollylondonbantam, Cool Hand Luke and 12 others like this. -

I'll buy a season ticket for next year without doubt. I've seen some people say they won't renew because we're facing shite like Forest Green, Grimsby etc, and I get that to an extent but surely we support Bradford City and who we are playing is irrelevant? I know for me we could be playing dog & gun fc in Sunday league and I'd still turn up because the club needs us more than ever when we're in the shit. You're no less of a supporter if you don't want to watch league 2 next year, but supporting a club also means you've got to stick together in the hard and miserable times too. Just look at Sunderland, successive relegations and they could've stayed away in numbers this year but still sell 25k+ season tickets and they're seeing the benefits. Well, because of that and investment, which brings me into my next point.
Just because I'll renew whatever doesn't mean I'm not sick of the club and how it's being run from top to bottom. Edin has left a monumental pile of shite to clean up but we have no idea who is going to be there with the sweeping brush next season. The club needs to tell fans explicitly whether Rupp and Rhodes will be here next season and if not, is the club up for sale? Also what are next season's ambitions on the pitch? Can we expect a suitable budget and support for the manager to get us straight back up?
In the week Bowyer talked about how well Luton are doing on the pitch because they have the perfect structure off the pitch. What are we going to do to make sure we have a structure in place?
If we start seeing some of these questions answered asap, we might sell more season tickets. A lot of people are not like me and blindly buy into the club, they need something to get behind and to feel enthusiastic about, and that's only fair.
@wetherbywhaler @Glenn Ackroyd I think it's time for another fans forum. I've heard the club will meet with supporter groups at the end of the month but for me this is too restrictive, the board need to be accessible for every fan who wishes to have answers to their concerns.marshy77, WilsdenBantam, Ponty City and 7 others like this. -

It took us over fifteen years, after going down from the Premier League, to get the club into a position where it could conceivably compete again above L1.
Eighteen months of mismanagement has ruined the club for the immediate future. It will take years, again, to recover from this. The squad is abject and not one saleable asset among them.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... I was pissed off when the result was confirmed today, not hurt, not gutted, but pissed off that it's come to this. Pissed off that something that I loved, that was so close to my heart has been torn to shreds and simply no longer resembles the thing I held so dear.Wakefield Bantam, Bantam@{Lancs}, Kopendin1964 and 5 others like this. -
What has happened is an absolute traversty. At a time when we should all come together, I can’t feel anything but them moving further apart. The nail in the coffin for me was departure of James Mason. Even he took far too much unwarranted criticism from many on these message boards and now we sit like a lost club.
This will take many years to fix. What a sad outcome for a club with such a bright future ahead of them only two years ago.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Wakefield Bantam, Bantam@{Lancs}, Hulmebantam and 3 others like this. -
My Dad first started taking me to City in the 1980’s. His interest waned and I was old enough to start going on my own.
I would have never missed City for love nor money, and even turned down jobs that involved weekend working as I didn’t want to miss City.
Fast forward a few years and I have kids of my own. I take them to games and we’ve loved it.
However the tearing apart of what was a stable club has caused it to lose its soul.
I no longer have the affinity either as you quite rightly say. If we lose it doesn’t ruin my weekend. I don’t care anymore. I’ve missed more games this season than in any season for the last 32 years and often decided to do other things on a Saturday or midweek evening.
The club is a shell of its former proud self.
I am very close to not renewing the family’s season tickets next year. I don’t recognise Bradford City anymore. We are a disgrace and it will take years for us to recover all because of one man.
Basically it’s all shit on the pitch and in the stands. I take my hat off to those people behind the scenes trying to rebuild our club - a rebuild that should not have been necessary. We had it all - a good stable club and we threw it all away.Jayteebee, Halifax Bantam, Frank Castle and 3 others like this. -
At this moment in time we are all fed up with the team, the manager, the board, really fed up, but come next August we will all be raring to go again. You'll See.

At the end of the 62-63 season we fretted that City might go out of the league having finished 23rd in Division 4 and seeking re-election. The board had faith in the manager and next season City narrowly missed promotion, choking in front of a big home crowd against Workington.
We'll be down for the Blackpool match, our last of this season, and will continue to support Bradford City, as we have done through all the ups and downs of the past 60 years.WilsdenBantam, BradfordBanter, Bronco and 2 others like this. -
It's been a disaster behind the scenes within the club and even more disastrous on the pitch but apart from the odd game once again Bradford City fans have got behind their/our club we should never forget that, no fans no club.

This is the life as a Bradford City fan.
No affinity with the club?? Does that really matter? Yes we all love to know what's happening, communication from the club would be good but with the modern day of social media whatever they put out now would be taken totally out of content and used against them. They released details of season ticket deadlines etc yesterday and they got barrage of abuse. Is it worth it? We are in a position at the moment were results ONLY matter and they aren't happening.
No connection with the players?? They come and go so easily these days that I don't even think that's an issue anymore. Gone are the days when you have a player for 7/8/9 years making 400 appearances, it's the way the game has gone.
I even think all this talk of moaning and groaning in the ground is overinflated. We all love a good moan, even during the good times, but fans especially the ones that have been going for years almost accept that this is what happens to us and lower league sides. Yes we shout and get frustrated by what happens on the pitch but I think the acceptance with what will probably happen has been realised for months now.Stop hovering to collapse... [QUOTEMembers="Rogered Tart, post: 185510, member: 217"]Forgive me if i don't share your enthusiasm for league 2 football. It took us years of god awful football before we got out of there last time. Certainly ain't raring to go to a home game against the likes of Cambridge or Forest Green, no disrespect to them.[/QUOTE]
Personally I don't think the football will be any different to the football City play, we should feel right at home, I have watched City since 1967 and for most of that time have watched then in the lower reaches, very little to cheer about, because we have a couple of bad seasons you are all throwing your teddies out of your cots, you either support City or you don't Thats football!. Now is the time to stand up and be counted. The clue is in the word supporter?. If the club were asking £300-£400 for a season ticket, then I could understand the reluctance to buy, but at £150. Who ever owns the club now or in the future, will need our support. nothing will be accomplished by not Buying a season ticket. We have all had the good times on the cheap, so lets pay the club back when they need us. Affinity doesn't just appear when we are winning. a lot of the lower league clubs go through cycles in their existence. We are just starting our next one. Would we not all rally round if there was a threat of going out of business, so lets rally round now to stop potential situation becoming a reality. Show your affinity now please
