Give it to Kev and let himself play in the EFL Trophy, F.A Cup, etc so he still gets his wish to play, like he did for the Grimsby game on Tuesday (which we still won!).

Initial contact was just outside the box, no penalty either way

A penalty is only a penalty when it is given.

    Therefore it wasn't.

I must admit i thought Halliday was a bit lucky. It was reckless, but we got away with it, and them also hitting the post. Hey ho. Great result.

love that interview from Manny. The players clearly respect him and buy into what he wants. If we beat Wrexham and he wants the job, give him it.

Lets hope the fans do their bit next week. Bring it on .

As I originally posted it was a caller on WYSD who mentioned the England U 21coach until I googled it I was not aware it was Carsley ex Everton man.

We couldn't be worse Hughes didn't know how to attack, it wasn't a classic but their recent form suggested it would be anything but easy.

3 wins (2 very impressive wins in the league) but I’m not sure I’d be giving him the job just yet. Both league games were incredibly close games and could easily have been a 1-0 defeats on another day. So whilst the results have been good and the performances much improved (easily done based on the dreadful showing under MH this season) I still think there’s more to come from this squad with the right manager. Maybe KM can get them to that level but if we have some good quality options for the job then I’d be tempted to go with them.

A team reborn? More like playing to familiar strengths. Management is about getting the best out of your people. McDonald has simplified our play and is allowing them to play with freedom. The players have responded in spades. We look a happier bunch. TBH the more I watch McDonalds team it reflects so badly on Hughes.
The run will end but it’s given the team and fans some confidence back. They obviously care and are giving their all. Smallwood looks a different player entirely. Along with the positivity we have started to see a bit of fortune. Them hitting the post and not being given a pen which for me was a pen. You can’t get wrong side and bundle into a player. If it was against City I would be screaming the place down.
Who knows where this teams ceiling is, it may not be good enough to get up but it’s sure better than 18th.

It was a tough afternoon but credit were credits due the performance warranted a win.
The goal was a finish of quality worthy of winning any match.
Great atmosphere in the away end yesterday even the closure of a stretch of the M62 on the way home didn't dampen the mood.

Pretty good assessment of the game and where we now found ourselves in general. We ain't no world beaters but MacDonald has us now playing a more lower league brand of football which makes them believe they are always in with a fighters chance. The game yesterday could have gone either way, I'd have been screaming for a penalty if the roles were reversed, it was your typical league 2 game which makes up the vast majority of the 46 games of the season.
Make no mistake, we'd have lost that under Hughes and shows just how badly he didn't understand lower league football.

    If you say so...

I'd suggest he fell on the ground though.

We have seen them given, however haven’t they changed the criteria; it has to be more contact to hinder the player or have I just dreamt that. I don’t think it is a pen slight contact just outside the box, then their player just goes down. I thought the ref was closer than that clip suggests, and we would probably get a better vie2 from the other side.

Good to see it from that angle. From behind on iFollow it looked stonewall. I think Halliday does touch him but certainly not enough to send him sprawling to the ground. Well done the ref. Good decision.

It has to be meaningful contact, enough to disrupt whatever natural motion is taking place. This lad probably felt the touch from Halliday and went down like he'd been hacked.

With how close Halliday was, if he stayed om his feet and had another nibble, the ref would have seen two attempts and at this level probably would have given the second one. Player saw the clock and hoped for the best.

If that was given as a penalty for us, i would deem it a gift from the ref and extremely soft, there was very little contact if any and the lad went down far too easy looking for the spot kick.
