Adams & Sparks out!

There’s no doubt about it they are both under pressure after tonight.
6 points from next 2 home games or it’s over for them both.

 

I said it in the summer and I'll say it again. Adams may well be a good manager but he's not the right fit for Bradford City.

 

Be an expensive decision if sparks was to give him the boot. 3 year deal….

 

We were chucking real ones at him during that game too.

 

He won't sack him, not this season anyway. He's put his limited and dwindling reputation on the line and sacrificed his philosophy in order to male this work.

 

Jim Jeffries and Mikey were better manager than Adams

 

So far Adams has no credit in the bank from me, the very short winning run at the start of the season against bad sides has long gone. His previous promotions mean nothing. Not one thing and I wish people would be fair and judge him on what he has done so far.
Here’s what I haven’t liked so far:

- removed all youth players from the first team and gave them very limited chances. Granted not good enough some but to totally alienate the majority and publicly in the press? Poor. And sparks only months earlier was saying that’s the route the club would go?
- Allowed to totally change the structure of the recruitment of the club. Fair enough if we want one man in charge but again against sparks vision for the club? Has to get January right now. Heaped a load of pressure on himself.
- slated players week in and week out in the press. Can’t be good for morale. We cannot afford to just change a full xi at this level and particularly not in a hard window in January
- sent mixed weird messages in the press saying the club had big issues behind the scenes that had been there a while? Seems to have stopped but meant attention now back on players
- injuries gone up and up. Another thing we were promised would change. Hasn’t. Got worse if anything.
- football is turgid. Happy with draws. Soon becomes a thing fans will turn against.
- 2 wins in 21 games. Just awful whichever way you look at it.
- sold a player out of a window when we have next to no options and now having to name 5 subs. Just why? Even if they went On and were rubbish why restrict your own options?
- slated Robinson and made it clear he didn’t sign him. Again not ideal he wasn’t who he wanted but you’ve gotta use everyone at this level. Can’t remember another manager doing it. Apart from Hopkin. And he didn’t last.

It all doesn’t add up. Now eirther he’s been lied to to get him to sign and then promises have been broken with budget or control over it, I just don’t know anymore.

 

In my opinion i think one, he didn’t realise how poor mentally the squad is.

Secondly there is a culture of losing at city. We have been losing for years and as adams has touched on thirdly is piss poor national league level recruitment. We bring in a DoF who signs injured and poor players from a team that looks like it will drop to the national league. We should not be signing players on a free from other teams in this league. I am really frustrated with this team and failure has gone on far too long.

if Derek gets the players he needs to suit his style and who actually want to win games we will do better.

the problem was Sparks went cheap on the DoF which unfortunately has put this season in jeopardy. Hopefully thats a lesson for next time. Back Derek let him get the players he needs and we will be good.

 

You’re very optimistic and I hope you’re right but just can’t see it.
How many do you think we can get in January and who are we meant to be attracting when you say don’t sign players on a free from our league?

 

Got a better track record than sparks so far. Least we had one good season under him

 

Depends on the funds we have available and on the outs we get. Ideally i would like four players
A GK, RB, FW and a LW. Maybe even a new CB too.
Well L1 frees or buy decent players. We bought Vernam and he is arguably one of the best players we have.

 

Unless we move a goalie on I can’t see us signing another one? Be surprised anyway with money clearly tight.
I think central midfield is very weak for us and another CB is probably needed. And that’s before you look at our attacking options. Too much to do and can’t see it happening all in January. This seasons gone. Out of all cups too.

 

RODs contract is up in the summer which means he can sign a pre contract elsewhere.

Bolton had a very similar problem last year, they sacked their DoF and brought some frees in. If Dereks Scouts are decent i expect some improvement and a chance to go into the play offs.

 

What your thoughts on this @Faithful Bantam? Can’t believe you are giving a manager credit in the bank when he’s failed him. Doesn’t matter what he’s done elsewhere.

 

I wonder does the current situation cause a dilemma for Sparks and the decision makers?

Undoubtedly, unrest amongst fans is increasing and performance /results are not as expected, so will Sparks entrust Adams with our purse in January??

I've not criticised Sparks and I'm not as such here but his record as CEO suggests he doesn't always follow through with his vision and decisions (football side of things).

 

Hence why he needs to go.

 

Definitely can’t sack Adam’s, he has had 3 promotions with his 3 previous clubs. Sparks marketed the ‘promotion year’ he’s got to save face: wakey wakey we are not Salford!

 

Failing at Bradford is he not?

 

This is a fishing wind up post, but in truth Adam’s is here for the long term, any talk of him leaving / being sacked is bonkers. It quite simply will not happen!
