Hi All, Wrexham fan here. I've been watching the town since 91. Been a really long time since we played each other - remember that wonder goal at your place with his first touch when you got a 2-1 win in our relegation season! Also remember the Carling cup game between us in 2002, you took the lead in the 83rd (I think without checking) and we got 2 very late goals to progress to the 2nd round to face Everton at home.

If there is info you may want to know about - let me know. Since the takeover, the club has sky rocketed with demand for tickets and sadly as a 3 sided ground we cannot meet demand. So as the stand behind the goal is the typical 'away end' for years and years before the kop was deemed unsafe, away fans have been housed in the upper (and now lower) tier of the Yale stand. You will only get around 1100 or so. In future, we would give the stand behind the goal to away fans for a better allocation, but not for a couple of years or so yet.

If driving to the ground, from Bradford, M62, M6, M56, A55, A483 then get off a jct 5, and the ground is 30 seconds from the A483, and very visible from the roundabout - especially from getting a floodlight upgrade which is even taller than our old ones.

Parking - anywhere surrounding the ground in side streets - I'd avoid. There is a big issue with street parking round the ground and seems like police will be clamping down on dodgy parking/residents only parking. Crispin lane is usually full around 1.5 hours before the game, as this is used during the day for people who work in the city centre. We do have the old astro turf pitch now turned carpark next door to the Yale stand, and this is £5 per car, but again, this gets pretty full quite quickly. I'd avoid the Sainsburys car park as well, but the last I heard is that they may now allow parking for a small fee for the football - don't quote me on that - i'm lucky as I only live a 10 minute walk to the ground from my house.

Food/Drink - Walsall were not given a designated pub to go to, and i'd imagine it's because we have had some right issues with them lot in years gone by which certainly didn't go down well with the local plod. In the meeting last week, they had to go back across the border to Whitchurch and that ended in tears for a poor young woman having her face smashed in! However, with our cup tie coming up soon, think you'd be fine. There is a new bar in the uni right across the entrance to the away end, but not sure on how they take away fans as this was only opened for the new season. We have the Maesgwyn next door to the Shell garage across the road from the ground, they allow away fans and the food there is really good. If you come early enough, town centre is about a 10 min walk and plenty of different pubs including Weatherspoons where you would be allowed in.

I wouldn't be surprised if the home end sells out - as the people who are not fortunate to have season tickets can't get a ticket, so this along with the EFL Trophy would be their only opportunity.

Team wise - Ben Foster has retired after conceding 13 goals in 4 games and admitted 5 should have been saved so he's recognised he's too old. Parky still doesn't know his best 11, and after a pretty woeful preseason trip to US, noone is fully match fit to last 90 minutes which is utter crap!

Hoping our keeper situation gets solved, and Mullin is still injured but rumoured to come back to training this week. We have not spent as much as what people think, only players signed for actual transfer fees are Hayden, Tom O Connor, Tozer, McClean, Palmer, Barnett, Mendy since the takeover, the rest have been nominal or free. Best player for us, aside from Mullin, is Elliott Lee. Signed on a free last summer from Luton after spells with Charlton and Oxford, hes arguably the best technical player i've seen ever in a Wrexham shirt. Defence wise, absolute shambles. Run at us, and have a shot, you would usually score. Think we have faced something like 18 shots this season (exc the Wigan cup game) and 13 have gone in. Horrendous!

Oh, the other thing I forgot - we don't have the staff to deal with tickets with home fans, so if there are a fair hundred or more wanting collection, you'd be waiting till Xmas to get them.

Thank you for your posts very informative. I won’t be travelling, the last time I went to your place we ended up in Crewe, and only made it for half time, and we were already 1 down, I can’t re bear the final score.
I am astonished that Parky hasn’t got his defence sorted yet. He was hard task master for fitness as well. Well we are like Santa Clause, gifts a plenty, fill your boots. Could be entertaining. So it will be the radio for me.

    We probably shit ourselves more than if it were the other way round. I seen Ollie Palmer wearing a knee brace so we really are down to the bare bones attacking wise. We must have at least these players out injured;

    Lainton (GK)
    Hayden(CB)
    Tunnicliffe (CB)
    McClean (LWB)
    Davies (MF)
    Mullin (ST)
    Palmer (ST)

All of which can comfortably be first teamers in any team in this division. I for hope we don't spanner another preseaon trip across the pond, or at least if they do, do it at the end of June. Wouldn't be surprised if Parky has been ranting and raving about it. He did speak briefly about not being happy in some capacity.

Still playing a very direct style which sort of suits us, but getting ball playing defenders like Boyle, Tozer (to a point) and O Connell, we can mix it up a bit when needed.

Erm, I assume so. The pub itself will be absolutely rammed so you’d have to be there early to get any chance of getting in but they do have a marquee outside in the car park which I’ve seen away fans there last season.

Surprised this hasn’t sold out once tickets went on general sale to season ticket holders

Will be the fifth away match inside three weeks at the start of the season. The first four have been dreadful quite honestly, so not surprised interest has waned.
The performances to date have probably sucked the enthusiasm out of the fan base, which is pretty poor (but understandable) to say we’ve not even got to September.

I’m feeling similar but I’ll wait until after the Mansfield game before I start boycotting away games.
I hope that someone at the club reads these message boards to understand the current feelings from loyal fans that are just about to throw the towel in.

Nov 1994. It was 6-1 in the auto windscreen cup (similar to PJT) so was hardly a competition anyone cared about.

i did, been to a few interesting away days at grounds at the time unlikely to play at - later than this one but Kiddiminster and Morecambe’s old ground were two. One of the highlights in my fledgling away following of City as a teenager was a last min Tolson header in the pouring rain at Bootham Crescent in this tinpot cup. You can keep your Chelsea aways

Not bad at all for the awful performance in our last away game.

I just hope these City players repay the loyalty with a performane we all can be proud of.

Is this a wake up call. A trip to North Wales still within the school holiday window at only £10 & £5 a ticket and we are struggling to shift 1,000. Even now they are on general sale to anyone?

In my opinion and mine alone, I think that if these tickets were on sale the other side of the Morecambe game they would have sold out prior to the Morecambe game. I think Morecambe, being schooled by Adams whilst Hughes just sat their clueless was the straw that broke the camels back for many, and this on the back of dire performances so far this season, and limping into the play offs and our total surrender at Carlisle.

Hughes appears to have been found out and he hasn't a clue at what to do to turn it round.
