I’m not sure it really matters who we get. I remember people getting a semi when Peter Taylor & Bryan robson got the jobs, didn’t work out too well did they. The 2 notable successful managers were both untried & caused outrage at the time, kamara & Jewell

Look how far we have fallen with these names . On another note what has Flynn done to warrant a shout? One cup run ? If he wasn't ex city and let's face it he was about as good as Dieng, he wouldn't be getting a mention. Too many soft and sentimental fans looking for another fairytale to cling on to.

I'm not even sure I care. How can anybody get giddy about a single person on that list?

By model, I mean not paying sufficient in wages to attract the better talent.
By model , I mean undermining the manager by failing to modestly back him (despite public promises to the contrary) in the transfer window/s.
Of course all owners will want their say but the sensible ones know when to step back and let the professionals get on with the job.
Comparing the Bolton chairman's conversations with Parky and own chairman's behaviour is plain wrong.
Keep telling yourself that the way it's now done at City is the norm in English football, I don't agree.Bantamsteve, Utters0, Here's Johnny and 2 others like this. -

I've voted Sheridan as he seems to specialise in saving teams from the drop

I'm Warming to the idea of Cotterill actually. Don't know why, just a hunch that he could do a good job here

I don't really see what they've done that's so radical. They've basically copied the Steve Evans approach he had at Crawley
What's so progressive about them, that means you have to be have ambition to for them to come?
I'd pick Paul Tisdale or Gareth Ainsworh or Flynn in a heartbeat before them - simply because they've stared disaster in the face and come through itMickey bantam, punk bantam, abbomf and 1 other person like this. -
With a limited budget and our current club management setup and the likelihood of a newbie being appointed, our luck is really going to have to hold to make any sort of a fist of next season.
Relying on luck isn't much of a strategy but it may be the only thing we have. Here's Johnny, Bronco, punk bantam and 1 other person like this. -
I don’t think anyone’s mentioned Paul Scholes. Wasn’t he interested in the Oldham job at some point?
Him alongside an experienced number 2 could work. His working under Fergie, his contacts and understanding of the game would be beneficial.
The rest on that list are so uninspiring that we risk sleep walking into the new season.Bantamsteve, Utters0, punk bantam and 1 other person like this. -

Darren Moore makes sense.
Craig Bellamy does not.
Paul Cook at Wigan (biggest job to date); Chris Wilder at Sheffield United (biggest job to date); Paul Heckingbottom at Barnsley (promoted from within, academy), every year there is an example of someone stepping up and getting their club promoted, whether they're signed from League Two or non-league or their academy.
What I can't find is an example of "a guy" walking into a club he doesn't know with no experience whatsoever of managing clubs and doing amazingly well.Onside, Silverbantam, Seasideman and 1 other person like this. -

I’ve admired the Cowley brothers over at Lincoln for quite some time, I’d love to see them given a chance. It won’t happen though, we’re not progressive enough anymore for anybody with ambition.
