We still need 8 to 10 points to be safe, let that sink in.

Its too much positive PR. Now that may sound daft, and I get that he's the highest profile manager we've ever had, despite being at our lowest ever ebb, but he's on a hiding to nothing until the end of this season. He's inherited an awful squad, with a terrible defence, so even working on the basics will be a challenge.

I recall Parky coming in, and I'm sure there was broadly recognition that his first season was going to be tough. And he had a chance to bring in loans and a few freebies. It wasn't until the following summer that we started talking about 'having a go'.

We have 1 job right now: stay up.

Unfortunately the defence is just evidence of years of under investment, constant switch in philosophies and year upon year decline.

As somebody said on another post, what a grounded and realistic interview from Hughes, gives me hope.
What a pile of sh.. he has been left by Adams.
We need to remember this and that MH hands are largely tied

MH will know now, if he didn't already, we're a few steps up from being a pub team. His first job is to get this squad of brainless underachievers to stave off relegation into the National. His next, to get rid of EVERYONE except Sutton, Watt and O'Connor. The worst first team squad I've ever watched in my 40 years as a fan.

    This is vital.

Most of us can see Rupp and Sparks aren't good enough, but Mark Hughes should be.

Even if we can't support the clubs ownership and leadership, we must support Hughes.

We need an entirely new back 4 and keeper. Maybe POC as a backuo

    No thanks.

We can't get rid of everyone, we need to keep the best five or six and bring in better players than them.

Paudie can't look good in that defence, but he could do a job with better players around him.

It's not just a case of clear the decks, nobody gets rid of every single player and brings in 22 better players, it's not realistic

Sparks said yes, he can have whatever he needs.

We'll hold him to that, no more hyperbole or jargon

Wouldn't be surprised if Sutton, Watt and O'connor get offered a deal....... whether they want to sign it is another thing. Three key players who've known nothing but failure at the club, they might want a fresh start.

I'm really struggling to see what you do if you think Watt is worth keeping. Dreadful player who gets worse every week. Problem is, we don't have better at the moment, and that's why a full clear out is required this summer

MH is definitely worth backing and I think now is the start of the club rebuild. Let's get safe and then I can see more ST sales for next season than this.

Ah well if hes said it, it must be true. After all he was right about not accepting mediocrity. We've accepted being shite instead.

Haha, quite right, but we have to hold him to that one as fans.

Like we keep saying, make or break.

An increase in season ticket sales would be great, as it will swell the coffers, then it's over to Rupp to make sure we have the funding to bring in the quality we need.

Most likely the only position we will need to pay good money for is centre forward, so if Rupp augments the budget with a little bit of money, it should be very possible to assemble a great squad next year.

Watt, along with Sutton, is one of the few players we have who tries to make things happen. I'll agree, doesn't often come off, but he tries to set things up. The problem is he's trying to make things happen with forwards who can't trap a bag of cement and fellow midfielders who seem clueless. But...also agree that in an ideal world, we probably need a total clear out anyway.
