I paid by cash and have been taking up my option of reduced season tickets since. I share the opinion of those that say anyone that didn't pay in full for any reason or got a refund and haven't lost out should not be claiming the reduced prices. Any argument otherwise is weak and the club have definitely lost out on a fair amount of income. Admittedly, it would've all been wasted and just lined the pockets of more players and agents, but still

I know very little about it since the idea of paying up front for anything involving GR never appealed!

However, if anybody has the original details about the 25 year scheme and the associated loan arrangements, a quick check on who the loan agreement was with should determine whether it's directly with the club or whether it's with some kind of personal finance provider.

Had the financing side of the scheme involved a 3rd party company providing straightforward finance to individual fans, I doubt very much that they would have waived the repayments!

Think we had a year left on the original 5 year deal which got linked into the 25 year one , all seemed too good to be true as it turned out

I'll be honest. If I had got a full refund, instead if nowt, I would have ripped up my 25 year vouchers and rejoined the proletariat

Something which is also forgotten. For example I have been buying three kids season tickets on the back of my season ticket (25 year), which are now moving into the youth category. That goodwill has meant I’ve carried on going and so have three others - as well as friends and their kids who started going with me.
It’s a bigger picture than ‘oh well 25 yearers get discount and are costing the club’.
Quite the contrary - the club are probably getting a dozen season tickets on the back of my one 25 year ticket - plus merchandise, match day costs - the club are well and truly quids in.
It’s a strange thread - point scoring and holier than thou attitude for which I don’t really understand the intent of!

I was with you until you said you subscribed to the T&A. Joking aside.

I don't think @Hoochy-Min@Hoochy-Min was citing you in his comments. It's those that got a full refund so were never out of pocket but still availed themselves of the offers from the club that he/she despises, I think.

Given a lot of them (not me) claimed it back on credit cards and have had a discount for no reason then its largely irrelevant. I'm not fussed even though I lost all my money, just scrap it now. I wouldnt complain. Bigger fish to fry.

Both me and my brother loved our seats in the Midland Road Stand, close enough to feel part of the game and a great seat with regards seeing both ends of the pitch, we much preferred standing or sitting with a side view, obviously in our younger days the Bradford End was the place to be, but once we got the offer from Julian and viewing various seating areas we took the offer of a seat in the Sunwin and the then Patrons Suite, even though we rarely drink in there it was great to sit in the suite during a freezing cold Tuesday night game in winter.

Couldn’t remember how much I paid last year, but did think this was quite a bit higher for next season. 50% increase at first glance does seem a bit steep. I’ll still buy it, but it would have been better if club could have given some reasoning for increase.

There’s no way the ticket should be priced higher than a senior or 16 to 23 ticket.

They stopped being free after the 2004 administration,as I said several proposals were put forward but nothing came of them. At one time a firm proposal seemed likely depending on what division we were in. Something like free in the premier league but full price if we went to the National league with staggered prices in the leagues in between but it never came to fruition and then Julian Rhodes came up with the suite upgrade option and implemented that. Technically the season ticket remains free but you have to buy a compulsory suite upgrade. Fine for people like myself in the main stand, but not so good for Midland road fans where a suite isn’t available, especially pensioners who will be paying more to renew their 25year ticket than it is to buy an ordinary pensioners season ticket.

I don't believe the above is correct those who claimed there money back were claiming against a business that no longer traded as Bradford City.
Why would the then new owners Julian & Gordon Gibb make the offer they did to all 25 year season ticket holders, there was never any conditions to the new offer the old company had taken fans hard earned cash any money those who went down the road of recovering their purchase did not come from Bradford City, but the bank's with regards the Section 75 Customer Credit Act.

    @Aleman@Aleman this is bullshit
“”I understood only a minority used credit cards and only a small minority of them claimed a rebate and continued to take discounts offered as this would be punishable legally as financial fraud. This was pointed out by some in online discussions at the time and subsequently so anybody who has done or is doing so should be well aware that they are committing a financial crime.””

At the ticket office today I was told:
    a) You can switch from 25 year ST to OAP ST and retain your seat, provided that your seat isn't one reserved for suite patrons only.

    b) Switching to OAP ST does not invalidate your 25 year ST. So if they change the pricing structure in future you could revert to your 25 year ST for as long as the scheme is running.

I asked whether the big increase, to more than the cost of an OAP ticket, was an attempt to bin off as many 25yearers as possible. I was told that I was reading far too much into it. The ticket office staff have raised it with the powers that be as being anomalous, to no avail. They were clearly of the view that it is a case of c0ck-up rather than conspiracy on the club's part.
