Hi Bradford fans, a county fan here. I hope you don't mind.

Just reading some of the messages on here about sarcevic and the so I thought I'd give you my thoughts as someone who's watched him every week.

Sarcevic is capable of playing as a 10 or an 8. He's never played deeper (infact powell as actually played as the DM more than sarcevic) and that's either in a 442 diamond or a 352. Our system doesn't change too much depending on formation so he's always been a pressing midfielder for us and while he may be slow he still uses his experience and his body very well. Sarcevic links up very well in small spaces but can also play an open game.

If he's to join you then he's a great leader and whilst he maybe on his last pay day that's why he's not signed the 1 year deal we offered like madden didn't and he signed a 2 year. They both are incredible and will work hard and aren't lazy.

I can see him being a cm for you and you will probably want abit of pace upfront which I think is something you lack (Barry and tanto olaofe - I don't think we could get much quicker)

I was told back at the start of April that you guys were after Sarcevic and Croasdale, sarcevic is seemingly set to happen so I can see Croasdale being the other one that you're set to sign.

Then two work incredible together and have been in our midfield for the past 3 and 4 years respectively and apart from our first season in league 2, sarcevic was barely injured and apart from a hernia injury at the back end of this season. Croasdale is never injured and will play more than 95% of the season easily. While Croasdale doesn't have the best of passing ranges. He can still do the simple passes but he's game is one of the best off the ball. He's up there for one of the best dms in the league.

Imo - both would be very good signings for you and are both upgrades on what you have in cm and DM.

Some posters appear to be trying to rewrite recent history with a growing view that investment in the club by the owner might be used in other ways. As a reminder to everybody, this is what Rupp wrote in his open letter to the fans ...

"I pledge my support to ensure we are now able to compete in the transfer market, giving us a greater chance of having a closer fight with teams at the top end of the table next season"

That's pretty clear to me; whatever else he does regarding the purchase of the ground or spending money to improve the pitch or bringing in an additional person to support the manager, his first promise (or pledge in his words) was to inject money into the playing budget so that we can compete with the other teams on the playing side. As far as I'm concerned, as much as I'd like to see VP back in the hands of the club, first and foremost it's the playing side which has to be improved unless we want to see our club in Div 2 for another season. Whatever happens with VP etc, it's fulfilling his pledge on the playing side on which I'll be judging Rupp.

You've got some brass neck there lad. Pathetic suggestion from you. Good job you don't come on here and post more often, because you'd soon be binned off with opinions like that

Our fans aren't been "negative" for the sake of wanting to be. It follows years of failure and false promises, god awful decision, and extremely poor communication with the fans. Made even more galling when you trek to the arse end of the country to places like Crawley & Sutton and go down without a whimper

Generally - and I say this about the majority of fan bases - the fans will show positivity if they feel the club is being positive, and vice-versa

Feel a tad for the lad, but as we also saw with Wright last year chasing a bit more money even at a higher level doesn't always work out well. He shouldn't have gone to a club bottom of the league imo, when a goalie is out of form like he was the last thing you need is to be facing a bombardment of shots every game. That said, I then remember he was also desperate to go to Barnsley, so two offers and he was keen to leave so he's made his bed so he can lay in it.

Sergio is actually spot on, as much as people don't want to hear it. If we go with the following can anyone serious say that smells like promotion?

    Kelly
Oyegoke - GA is trying to get him back.
    Byrne
    Fteckleton
    Stubbs

And people only want 5! That looks an average backline at best, CB is arguably the most important position in a back 3 formation and especially in the lower leagues. Mansfield brought in Flint last season and the rest is history, once upon a time we brought in McArdle and Davies. Wrexham invested heavily in CBs and so on. We need more quality there than anywhere else, I hope the club are more ruthless than some on here.

People talk about how Wyke is past it. That he isn't worth the wages. That nobody will risk taking him on.

He played in League one last season. That's a league above us

He scored 7 goals last season in 18 appearances. That's 8 goals more than Cook, Young, Kavanagh, Smith an Oliver scored in a league above in the last 2 years. Oh an of our strike force, the only one that played in a league above was Oliver.

if it is financially feasible, I would love for City to sign him. Goals aside, his hold up play is arguably better than Cook, an he's probably better technically as well. Yes, there are some warning signs on the wall, but if there wasn't, he'd be at a top end league one club by now, rather than being linked with us

That's the second time you've mentioned Cook struggling to score with his head.

He's scored 21 times with his head during his City career, just two behind the human chandelier that was James Hanson. I'd say that's a cracking record.

We need to be yo-yoing between the Championship and League One. That's where we should be. If we can establish ourselves in the Championship without ruining ourselves financially, all the better.

If you can't see what Law offered I can't help you. A lot of others had the same view without understanding football and I mean no disrespect.

I have to agree with Park on Wright. I think the team looked a lot more balanced with him at LWB and he did nowhere near as bad as some made out. Yes, he played his best football for us on the wing but tbh he was poor on his return at wing and improved when going to LWB. Unless we can get a real standout LWB like Nicky Cadden, who tbh is the only player I can think of who is stand out in that role as it is very specialised, then I would be happy with Wright.

How’s he gone from doing well in league 1 literally last season to not being able to hack league 2? It makes no sense.

Nobody is suggesting that we should be walking the league but I can't accept that a single top 7 finish is anywhere near good enough for our latest spell in the basement.

For me, we're underperforming massively, even while accepting that we aren't being handed the most generous of budgets.

It is a funny one with Smallwood, very much like Cook and his 'weight loss' when he scores. If we win people say he's finally playing well, yet if we lose he's the worse player and captain to every play for City, despite been one game away on two separate occasions to leading us out at Wembley.

He's a steady player and it's often nothing to do with his form. Take him off set pieces and don't leave him horribly exposed and let him sit in front of the defence and there will be few better at this level. Like any player, play them out of position or negatively effect them through tactics and they won't thrive. Hopefully Alexander can get the best out of the midfield on a regular basis, as it has been too exposed and unbalanced for years.

It looks like Halliday and Pointon offered better and improved contracts.
