Form? Training performance? That's their problem not ours

Yes, the penny drops. Its a nice problem to have and we need quality all over the pitch and bench.

Thats what all promoted sides have. Quality not quanity!

I wonder if Stockport fans were concerned they had Madden, Wooton, Olaofe and Barry fighting for 2 places last season.

Pattison just missed almost an entire season, Walker missed a big chunk, Pointon was in and out.

What we would have given to have Sarcevic when we had to turn too Osadebe and Oduor to fill in eh....

Next season is potentially around 60 games when we consider league, paint cup and the other two cups. Plenty of opportunities with injuries, rotation, suspension, form to tackle....

Reall? He hasn't played as a 10 since his Bolton days. Stockport dont overly use 10s, even Powell joined and played more in a 2 up top more than a traditional 10. He's been a sitting midfielder for over 3 full seasons now. It would be like us all classing Gilliead as a right winger still.

He'll be more effective standing. Particularly if he needs to quickly run somewhere.

Apologies, I stand corrected Jordan. I've never seen him play that deep and certainly didn't think he had the work rate to play that kind of role but it seems most people knew he was a deeper central midfielder these days.

Unless we move McDonald on, l wouldn’t be happy with a replacement midfielder in their early 30’s. Once again we have to remember that we can only register 22 Senior outfield players. We need space if we are to sign new players and l think other positions need filling first.

McDonald is done. He's either going to be released or possibly offered a coaching role like Derbs was during this season just gone imo.

To be honest I'm dismissing McDonald as a dud signing and really don't see him featuring much at all. He's clearly got bags of ability for this level but pointless if we can't get back to back games out of him.
Can see a similar scenario to Ash Taylor where they come to an agreement over his contract. Failing that, I think his appearances will be pretty much limited to the Bristol Street cup and not much else

I’ve just seen that Sarcevic played at Fleetwood 2013-2016 which is the same time Alexander was manager there.

If that's the case I'd rather see one of the young lads like Jefferys given a chance in the tin pot cup rather than a player whose legs have gone.

Hi Bradford fans, a county fan here. I hope you don't mind.

Just reading some of the messages on here about sarcevic and the so I thought I'd give you my thoughts as someone who's watched him every week.

Sarcevic is capable of playing as a 10 or an 8. He's never played deeper (infact powell as actually played as the DM more than sarcevic) and that's either in a 442 diamond or a 352. Our system doesn't change too much depending on formation so he's always been a pressing midfielder for us and while he may be slow he still uses his experience and his body very well. Sarcevic links up very well in small spaces but can also play an open game.

If he's to join you then he's a great leader and whilst he maybe on his last pay day that's why he's not signed the 1 year deal we offered like madden didn't and he signed a 2 year. They both are incredible and will work hard and aren't lazy.

I can see him being a cm for you and you will probably want abit of pace upfront which I think is something you lack (Barry and tanto olaofe - I don't think we could get much quicker)

I was told back at the start of April that you guys were after Sarcevic and Croasdale, sarcevic is seemingly set to happen so I can see Croasdale being the other one that you're set to sign.

Then two work incredible together and have been in our midfield for the past 3 and 4 years respectively and apart from our first season in league 2, sarcevic was barely injured and apart from a hernia injury at the back end of this season. Croasdale is never injured and will play more than 95% of the season easily. While Croasdale doesn't have the best of passing ranges. He can still do the simple passes but he's game is one of the best off the ball. He's up there for one of the best dms in the league.

Imo - both would be very good signings for you and are both upgrades on what you have in cm and DM.

Thanks for the insight. Out of interest do you think they aren't good enough for League1?

I don't think Croasdale is personally but that's just down to him not being technical on the ball but like I said he's still a very good tackling/intercepting DM who does all the dirty work.

Sarcevic I'm gutted about as we've lost him and madden. Our captain and vice captain on top our next best leader in Croasdale.

Whilst I know very little about Croasdale the way he is described he sounds just what we need a physical presence and midfield ball winner. I think we have missed that type of player
