2024 Released Players & City transfer rumours

Work permits would be the issue I'm guessing? It all changed a few years ago didn't it. Think it's got like a points system now these players have to hit to be able to get a permit.

 

Now signed for League 1 Northampton so no need to worry about us signing a dud.

 

New "elite significant contribution" rules came in last summer so clubs can sign players who don't meet the standard points system for a visa after the FA agreed a deal with the government, Premier League & EFL. There is still some criteria to meet but it is less strict. In league 1& 2 you can sign 2 players through this scheme and in the Premier League & Championship you can signed 4.

Even with the new rules we would find it tough unless that player has played at least 5 international matches or they've come through an academy at a top club and played in the UEFA Youth league.

Posted this somewhere else but Owen Moxen is getting no game time at Portsmouth. Would be worth half a season I reckon if he plays anything like he did for Carlisle.

 

Definitely if he could be tempted to drop down to this level again

 

I spoke with Gent about this last season and he said it's a non-starter at this level. The higher you go in the leagues, the easier it is
