It'd be interesting to get a breakdown of the 3006 who haven't renewed, I wonder how many are/were free kids tickets?

 

I fear a small number will be fans no longer with us.

 

True. It wasn't a criticism. It's an opportunity throughout the season to draw more fans through the gate on potg and win them back for next season. Hopefully the club get in touch with them to find out why they didn't renew and ask what the club can do for them to come back. It's a potential (although it's sad to consider some didn't renew as they're no longer with us) additional upto 3000 season ticket holders next season...

I’m sure previously it was said we sold about 3k Flexi when questions were asked regarding low official attendance figures.

 

Just got into the Soprano's and as Tony would say "stop breaking my balls" .

 

I'm sure I recalled a figure of about 1200 flexi's quoted a few weeks ago when Sparks was discussing non-renewals and if they'd converted into full season tickets.

EDIT - found it - we had 1,671 flexi card holders in 19/20 so about half have upgraded to a full season ticket and half haven't renewed.

So ignoring flexi it is 2,200 season ticket holders not renewed

 

Non-renewals will be for a variety of reasons - some related to COVID such as deaths, job losses, concerns about social distancing etc.
But others will be more mundane. My mate is not taking a ticket this season purely because he's bought a new house that needs a lot of working doing on it. The drain on his time and money mean he'll catch games as and when he can.
Given the last few seasons it wouldn't surprise me if more than a few fans have simply given up on the club. Despite Mr Adams appointment and a few signings it doesn't guarantee success on the pitch. We've had too many false dawns in recent years and it's left some people sceptical and jaded.
We need to win games to turn some of those lost fans around.

 

Based on 150,000 deaths and a UK population of 70,000,000 that's 0.00215% of the population. 13,000 season tickets in 19/20 would mean 28 deaths amongst season ticket holders

 

150,000 deaths? Over two years? More like 1.2m, or are you just using COVID deaths?

Spot on Wolfy. I don't get this obsessing with how many flexi cards are now season ticket holders, who's bought what and who hasn't. We've 12,700 on the board which is great for the club. Agree with your reasons for why many may have passed or had to pass this time around. It's a whole changed different world from last season ticket time around.

 

12 700 season tickets. Just pause on that and then realise that the bottom 10 supported teams in this division probably don't have 12,700 combined season tickets

 

And there will be many Lg 1 and a good few Championship clubs struggling to match that. All good - but darn it Ulysses, to quote Eric Burdon, we gotta get outta this place!
