A price is a price. Why would anyone pay more out of choice ?

There was an initiative a few years ago where fans could donate/pay more if they wanted for a “fighting fund”. Not sure if that’s been a thing in the last 3-4 years though.

that is what certain posters can not understand. They think if someone says it should be more expensive then they should donate the difference. That isn’t what people are suggesting, they think the price is just too cheap across the board and should be more

So I've followed the link to buy, and now I have to log in. And it's not the same details as my ifollow log in. So I set up a new account, and it says I'm already registed. I've forgotten my password (if I even had one) and it asks for my customer number/email. So I put in my email address, and it says that's the incorrect customer number. So now I'm at a dead end. Don't they want my money?!

What a daft idea thinking people would pay more just because they have more. Just because I may have more money than the guy down the road doesn't mean I'm gonna go into Tesco and pay more than him for my groceries.

Your customer number will be on any old season or flexi ticket going back 20+ years, i.e. it's the membership number that was dished out 20 odd years ago (or whenever you first purchased a season/flexi ticket if more recent).

I’ll pay for something I perceive I am getting. If the club wants a fighting fund the club and its owner can dig deep for it. I’m not a charity. If they want an extra £50 out of me the club needs to give me something for it. I work hard for my money, I work hard to make sure my employer gets as much money as it can and Bradford City should do the same.

This is a competitive, capitalist industry based on supply and demand and quality of product. We need to act accordingly, which includes offering as much quality at reasonable value, with different options for different customers/supporters.

Commercially, we do look to be improving.

    Bradford City isn't a charity.

Only a bloody idiot would give to a 'fighting fund'! What's a fighting fund? Rupp has money! It's up to him to supply the funds not a bloody fighting fund!

So by that tangent why are you paying money to a club in L2? It clearly hasn't worked hard to enough for you to purchase a match ticket.
I want to support the club in anyway I can and if this means we can be more competitive this season then why shouldn’t I?

Hilarious how you complain about a lack of budget or funds, but as soon as the opportunity for you to contribute is given you refuse. Hilarious :joy:

We couldn't get any worse. I know for a fact behind the scenes was pretty much non existent, no KPIs or targets to be met. Always made me laugh when I read comments on here that 'but Morecambe have done well with the lowest budget', like improving your income streams somehow doesn't matter. Always exceptions to the rule but generally the better budget your manager gets the more chance you have of being successful and that applies to any business not just football. And at long last we have a CEO who understands thay acting like a charity is no good for long term development.

The fighting fund was one of those ideas that fools think is a good idea but ultimately never works. Would you go to John Lewis and pay £500 for a £400 TV? No, neither would anyone else.

Exactly. I love supporting my local pub. If thanos wants to charge me £4 for a pint of Boltmeker ill pay it, but I sure as he'll won't pay £4 for it if he only wants to charge me £3.75 (or £2.75 on a monday)

    Why is it hilarious.

I read @StaffordBantam@StaffordBantam making a poor excuse for Rupp the other day and hear Sparks say the club wants to be sustainable.

How long have I being saying the club needs to improve off the pitch? Rupp can speed up that process by buying assets in which the club can use as a commercial gain but he doesn’t.

Rupp is a poor excuse of a football owner but no way fans should be paying more to a bloody fighting fund. Mugs whoever did or does.

I suppose fans have no choice but to make silly assumptions when it comes to the budget.

I get fans wanting the playing budget to be increased, but the constant carping about season ticket prices being too cheap isn't a good solution in the short, medium, and especially the long term.

There is zero guarantee there will even be an increase in income, although I suppose the increase to £198 with a pay-per-month-at-no-extra-cost direct debit system makes it more likely - but even then you've still got absolutely zero guarantee that even if we DID have an increase in income, it gets allocated to the playing budget. Sorry, if you're not holding the purse strings it's really silly to assume the playing budget will be allowed to be increased.

The powers that be at Bradford City will have an idea of the amount they want to spend. Some clubs have a principled system of not paying individual players above a certain amount; some will have a sensible, guaded system of not over-reaching on contracts in any single year in case a bumper season in terms of ST sales isn't met again the next year, or the next.

Who's to say the increased cost of season tickets doesn't go towards hot water or player facilities or new shower heads or new headed paper for the office.

If the club are saying "The cost is £149", it's presumably because they've figured out that that's what they need from their 10,000 or whatever fans.

Those fans then saying "No, the cost should be £199 so we can sign more or better players" isn't necessarily going to bring in more or better players. It's just a wild assumption based on absolutely nothing anyone at the club has ever said.
