    Why would we get a discount on it if it was only available to us? That would just be the price. I'm pretty sure, despite the bit you quote later in this thread, that it is available to all but by being a 1903 Club member you get your name on it and, it turns out, a fiver off the price non-members will pay.

    "On top of this, 1903 Club members’ names will be displayed on a limited-edition fourth shirt - to be worn by the Bantams during the 2021/22 season - and available to purchase with a members-only in-store discount." This is from the original 1903 Club blurb. Apart from being "limited-edition" it doesn't say it's exclusive to purchase by 1903 Club members.

    For reference, the 2017 4th shirt was available to all, not just those who paid to get their name on it.

    Perhaps one for the club to clarify?

    I've just emailed the club and asked them why they expect people to commit to buying a product with no idea of what it looks like. I've received an automated reply saying my query has been logged and I should get a response within 48 hours. I'll let you all know their response when I get it.

    It's certainly a very confused/confusing message that the club is sending out about this shirt.

    If that is the case then it should say so. It's being presented as a limited edition option that's only available to 1903 Club members.
    If it's going to go on general say then how can they say that 1903 Club members have 'exclusive access'. And why would they need to know firm numbers of club members intending to buy it? That makes sense if it's a limited edition for club members only, but not if it's a general sale item.

    Maybe they want to make sure there are enough for the members. Again not sure how a discount can be offered if only those that get the discount can buy. Or if that is the case they should give a massive discount by setting a huge price that no one will ever have to pay

    Righty ho. Stand by your beds - I have the answers.

    In response to my email I got a phone call this evening from Mick Shackleton, the club's commercial manager.
    Mick told me that there is an official 4th shirt launch later this week, which will include a mock up picture of the shirt. Obviously they can't commission a real shirt in advance because they don't know how many names will be on it etc.

    (Drum roll...) The shirt will be the same design as the white home shirt, but will be amber with claret and white across the shoulders. Apparently this was the away shirt in the 81/82 promotion year.
    Sounds nice to me. Shame it's not our second or third kit really.


    Second issue. The shirt is a limited edition that will not, repeat NOT, go on general sale. 'Exclusive access to 1903 Club members' means exactly that.

    I didn't ask about the discount but, looking at the email from the club, I'm sure it means that the price is a fiver cheaper than the £49.99 adult price for the home, away and third shirts.

    The deadline for committing to buy is next Monday, so it seems that we will get to see the mock up before deciding whether to buy.

    Hope this clarifies things.

    "As a member of the all-new 1903 Club, only you have exclusive access to the official Bradford City AFC 2021/22 fourth shirt.

    You are invited to have your name - or the name of your choice - on the shirt, to be worn by the Bantams in one home match this season.

    To request a name change, and to reserve your own fourth shirt (£44.99 to 1903 Club members, which would have retailed at £49.99), please follow the link below.

    PLEASE NOTE THE DEADLINE FOR COMPLETING THIS FORM IS MONDAY 16th AUGUST 12:00PM NOON

    1903 Club members who have not completed this form will have their customer name used as standard."
