To play with urgency, the players need to be motivated and as you rightly observed today, there is no motivation coming from the head coach and his 'staff' as he likes to call them. Zero, zilch, nil, naught, nada.

 

We are going to struggle badly this season, and this is a season well and truly orchestrated by Rahic.

It's early days, but I'm already convinced he cannot be allowed to own this club heading into next season.

He has got to go before he orchestrates a relegation back to League Two which we'll struggle to bounce back from.

I think we have a very poor team, but good players.

Which doesn't surprise me, because it was clear we were signing an unbalanced XI all Summer long.

 

The sad thing for me is I've always been devastated after any defeat but this season I don't even seem bothered.....worrying times.

 

What it all boils down to is the fact the MC took the job in the first place he didn't have to nobody held him to ransom to take the job on I don't want to think sheer arrogance was the reason he took it His reputation will take a massive blow and WHEN he has to find another job in the game he will find it neigh on impossible A polite thanks but no thanks would have been better for all concerned especially for himself

I think Edin will put MC out of his misery if there is one more performance like that. He will save face by moving him back to the youth team saying “it was a gamble that didn’t work out”. Don’t forget it’s Edin’s money that is going down the pan. The Scunthorpe chairman came to the same conclusion during the week saying Division One is no place for a rookie.

Trouble is I cannot see anyone with suitable experience being prepared to take on the role given our recent history and the failure to appoint an experienced manager over the Summer.

If he does sack Collins than he has to take a step back and let the new manager, manage the team learn from he past mistakes if he can

 

If Collins gets the bullet and there’s been no suggestion from Rahic that he will the boards philosophy is to employ a coach. So the set up will have email the same with a different coach.
We looked clueless today until it was changed.
442 suited us and we improved a bit at that point.
My concern is squad depth and quality as well as the coach.
The two full backs don’t stop crosses and the two centre midfielders offered NOTHING. Akpan was Mr invisible. Doyle has no chance when balls are hoofed up to him because centre mid isn’t smart enough to create a space / angle to receive the ball and play through.
This already looks a complete botch job.
Wycombe we’re limited. Stuck to a plan and we were that poor that they looked much better than us. It was almost as though city can’t be arsed. Which is twice in 3 games.
That is a massive concern and is about player mentality and their boss. Calling him Mikey shows zero respect.
We’re are screwed as things stand.

Collins is way out of his depth. Pulled out of the baby pool by Edin and thrown in at the deep end. The lad can't swim and we're starting to sink. This is on Edin' s shoulders. His vanity has warned off any decent experienced manager. It will only get worse.

 

Which CD can play in midfield? I would stick with 442, because the players understand it. I would bring in Killa to plug the hole in defence, reverse my decision on Josh Wright and make Killa captain. Play the defender in midfield and the young midfielder who came on and drop both Josh Wright and Akpan. I would play Miller and Doyle upfront. We need to get Payne into the team, not sure how, but he is our most creative player, plus Scannell so both of those need to play. We need solid full backs, any ideas?

 

Completely uncalled for that remark. @Fordy117 can be outrageously unrealistic at times, but did not deserve that comment.

 

I think it's easy to blame MC.

There is something very wrong about the place. Even at the warm up the atmosphere is all wrong everyone looks like a rabbit in headlights.

I'm dreading the next few months.

 

Yeah was interesting to see abbo (that renowned defender) doing some drills with the defence before the game. One minute they were heading balls , then coming in to do short passes and then some other sort of formation where Abbo would run at them with the ball pointing sideways. Completely weird.
