Similar issue with me and the wife earlier. Couldn't figure it out so just drive to the ticket office and lunch and did it in person. Asked the fella at the kiosk and his words were "the new system is f***ing awful, I wouldn't be surprised if you can't buy for two people".

I'd say that's more of a customer pleaser comment than the real truth. If the system was so bad then Ticketmaster wouldn't be making the gains they are in Football.
The biggest issue I think has come from above with them not explaining the system properly to fans and likely not to the ticket office staff. If they put together simple step by step guides for things like adding friends and family and changing account abilities then it would be a lot easier and once you know how to do it then it's quite simple

Yeah it's a clear information issue for me. They gave little to no info out to anyone and from my experience today, I'd suggest the ticket office staff were just as in the dark as the rest of us. I'm trying to move seats for next season, I asked if you can do it online and he said "I wouldn't bother, just come down or call up it will be far easier but we dont even know if you can switch seats online yet". So another drive to VP midweek is on my schedule.

Yet another example of poor implementation of this system.

What a complete shambles it is.....no proper data migration, no proper testing, no communication, no user guide......nothing to be heard from the Director Of Ticketing....nothing from anybody really!!

This is what I did to register my F&F in Ticketmaster ....

    https://bantamtalk.com/index.php?threads/2024-2025-season-tickets.7938/page-23#post-856491

    and it worked successfully.

Had the Ticketing Director updated his Q&As and explained how to do this or provided better staff training, there would have been less grief for the fans.

    Absolutely spot on.
Simple tutorial video by our media team in association with Ticketmaster would have been a great help.

No response from the club about this whole process. It may well have an impact on renewing ST sales? If ppl can’t fathom it out of get through to ticket office, ppl will just give up. It will no doubt be fine once it has run for a few months, however it is symbolic of how fans are treated tbh. No help for the no tech ppl. Then charging ppl for a physical card. There is no way it costs £5 to produce cards. It just needed more care and attention.

Renewed my ticket with no problems, granted it was a single ticket keeping my seat so it was easy. Reading through the comments the club should be sending their staff on a Customer Support course on how to be more diplomatic with their comments. Telling the public that the system is crap is not the way forward, they should then fix the issue from the feedback they receive. That’s the only way forward and it would go a long way towards reducing the negativity around the club.

I renewed my season tickets in person at the ticket office. I enquired about having a physical ticket as we have now and got a little patronising lecture about moving with the times and if I can't really cope with a QR code come back next season and they can see what they can do. I disliked the assumption that because I am a female over 65 I am some sort of technology imbecile. I just prefer a physical ticket thanks.
Anyway having registered myself successfully on Ticketmaster I thought I would do the same for son and grandson.
My son's account was pre-populated with an address in Eccleshill that we have absolutely no connection with. There is something very wrong with the data migration.
I have emailed the club and asked them how this can have happened. Will await the response with interest.

Currently I have my season ticket on the City App in my phone. Will the next season's ST also be included in the app or will the only way to put it on my phone be by using the Google wallet?

ps I'd still rather have the option of paying a fiver for a card to keep in my wallet. Not because I'm a technophobe but 'cos I never forget my wallet but do forget my phone!

There is going to be Apple Wallet/Google Wallet integration.

I think the existing City app will essentially become null and void. I only ever use it on match days to get into the ground. Waste of time otherwise.

Well against my better judgment I have renewed (@andyc@andyc), but we have not renewed the whole family's season tickets, so the club are still missing out.

My experience of the Ticketmaster system was that it was easy to log in, linking family and friends was straightforward - however the generated emails were next to useless, and the instructions from the club were non-existent. Purchase and check out was OK, but we have to accept the terms and conditions which are blank. You couldn't make it up.

It's clear the system has been rushed in without any testing or preparation, and the ticket office manager should be very disappointed in himself.

Finally it's still disappointing for the club to say that the atmosphere section is "likely to be in Block B". Why "likely"? Do they not know for definite?

That's a shocking attitude toward customer service but not surprising with the attitude that comes from the guy in charge of this department.

Remember the play-off ticket fiasco last year, and he put out a tweet congratulating the department on how well it went!!!!!

Noticed a couple of times he didn't seem to take kindly to constructive feedback, seemed to double down instead.

@Allotment Bantam@Allotment Bantam @Dennis@Dennis There are many reasons why ppl prefer to use a physical card rather than a code on your phone. Personally I don’t see why the club cannot provide them free of charge for those that want them. They will hardly break the bank. The majority will use a code on the phone.

I am 74 and have no problems finding my way round all technology I just think my brain is wired that way. So the patronising and making assumptions about ppls ability to negotiate there way round this flawed system has bugger all to do with age. I suppose the equality training they have had doesn’t include age discrimination? I think this new system has many of the basic’s missing and just not working. The ones that are working F&F are clunky and difficult to negotiate. The success of any roll out of tech is glowing praise from the users. So far this barely gets 3/10 from me. The lack of instructions videos and support is breathtaking when this is a major supply of resources to the business!

I suspect the app will be discontinued after this season as I don't really see the point in it when people can download their ticket to apple/google wallet. I doubt many people use it other than for 2 minutes on a matchday so no point in it.
Best thing to do with your ticket is if we you get the QR code emailed to you then print it out and stick it onto something like an old season ticket or Tesco club card. That way you get the physical ticket and save yourself the £5.

That might explain why he never replied to my email at the end of last season. I attempted to explain to him - in great detail incl directing him to the appropriate EFL regs - why he was wrong to provide 400 more tickets at home to Carlisle in the playoffs than was required under EFL ticketing rules. Others also emailed him on the same issue. And it was his decision which created all of the grief for 3,000+ fans in the MR having to be moved to wherever there were spare seats elsewhere in VP in order to accommodate the extra 400 Carlisle fans. Still waiting for his response.
