David Sharpe appointed Head Of Football Operations

He might do the honourable thing and step down If Sparks is still in the position he is now and let’s say Sharpe comes to the club on a part time basis in whatever position,then I see this has only save Sparks job.

We need big change.

If true, it again exposes the lack of football connections at the top of the club. However, he does have good, relevant experience and seems reasonably well thought of at his previous clubs.

If he does come in it will be very interesting to see what his actual role is.

No, Dave is well in his 80s now and spends most of his time in Caribbean Also not very well.

It’s started already ….written off before he’s even officially announced. Some forum members….true to form as always, think we are Liverpool , Man City and Man U rolled into one.

He’s coming in to assist Sparks isn’t he? Sparks will remain. Expect some PR BS (from Ryan) about how he’s doing this and the other doing that….jointly. It’s a waste of a wage for sure!

I can't agree with those saying he's inexperienced when he is 10 years experience in football with different roles. It also wasn't too long ago he was linked with joining the club. Also after the Mansfield game there were a lot of people praising them and how the club was set up, he was a big part of that as Director of Football then CEO before he left to help with the family business.

It was mentioned in the Director of Football thread but I don't understand why some are obsessed with the idea that whoever it is needs to be an old has been manager. This is a completely different job to being a manager and we are seeing a lot of top clubs go for people with little or no playing history.

 

Ah yes the owners fancy lady was made CeO with nil experience…Remember it well!
This place would have melted!

I am not bothered what age he is. He looks like he has done a great job with Mansfield and Wigan.

The most positive comment here being how he's rated for his influence running the club from a football perspective, which is certainly where Sparks is struggling the most.
