My husband has just been talking about how poor our team is. He says that the basics are not there. Gary Jones, Felipe Morais, I don't think we should get too hung up on who comes in, yes, they're going to be new to the position, yes, they're going to be inexperienced, but the question is, do they have the understanding and ability to oversee the implementation of all of the key attributes the club has lacked since Lawn left.

We just get our learning and inspiration from those running the club, how many times have we brought an old face back?

For what it’s worth I don’t disagree with you, any role filled should be done with a proper and extensive recruitment process and not someone we know. That said this club has form for it so Jon will probably be close to the mark (only a slight joke).

 

The first item to be addressed is the appointment of a CEO. Someone who has experience of running a football club. Unfortunately we have an owner who is not interested in undertaking decisions regarding the actual running of the club, possibly like some of the owners of Premier League teams. However they make sure that the person who is in charge is knowledgeable about how to run a club and is capable of making it successful. If he is not successful then he is replaced. That person makes a decision as to how the club should function and appoints a manager who will perform along these lines. Recruiting staff will also be appointed with instructions as to what type of player should be identified. If the Owner/CEO wishes to have a DOF alongside the CEO to assist regarding the footballing aspect then someone is appointed. The fault at City is there is only one person who appears to have any responsibility is a person who was in charge of the commercial activity of a small Rugby League team, was brought in the take over the commercial activity at VP and then was given the job of CEO without any knowledge as to how to do the job.
