There was a piece on the radio the other day, can't remember the source, it was talking about housing in this country compared to the other major countries across Europe and how poor value it is to live in this country. Bang for your buck you are far better off living in the countries in mainland Europe.
If i was to live my life again thats what i would have done, this country is the absolute pits now. To be fair no one can save it from itself, just happens the Tories sped up the decline by a rate of knots. Our public services in a state of complete disarray, the countries infrastructure falling apart at the seams and the only viable alternative to the Tories is Labour. If you didn't laugh you'd cry.
Will the last one out please turn off the lights.

To you, maybe. But anyone who thinks that Starmer and Reeves won’t be more competent at running the country than the succession of clowns we’ve had recently, needs their head testing.

Labour would like to sensibly borrow (at what are still historically low interest rates) to invest in infrastructure, to repair our disintegrating health and public services and to promote growth and productivity. But they know that the Tory press would scream their usual lies about Labour profligacy and that millions of people will be ill informed enough to believe them. Also scared shitless of upsetting the international money markets after Liz Truss’s losing game of roulette with our economy.
So they have to keep everything ultra cautious, stick largely to the Tories’ fiscal rules and not present any hostages to fortune, in order to get elected. This, unfortunately means that the process of repairing a decade and a half of Tory decimation is going to be slower than it otherwise needs to be. But at least they will try to turn the ship around, however slowly, rather than continuing to punch holes below the waterline as the Tories would do if they got back in again.

The Stockport dragon surely takes the Hypocrisy award of the year this week.

Despite haranguing Tory MP's such as Jill Mortimer, Nadhim Zahawi and Rishi Sunaks wife to come clean about their tax affairs, Rayner has told reporters that her own tax affairs are her own business and refuses to come clean about whether she has avoided capital gains tax on the sale of her alleged second home. Greater Manchester police are now reassessing their decision not to investigate her over the sale of her former council house.

Furthermore, she could be investigated about registering a false address on the electoral roll, which if proved correct, would potentially give her a criminal record.

Funny also that she gained a profit of £48,500 on the sale of the council house she bought under Thatchers Right to Buy scheme, a scheme that Rayner has slammed for years due to the so called rental housing market shortage.

Labour and their supporters will be getting their excuses in early then when they make their usual mess of the economy.

But that’s just it, they don’t usually make a mess of the economy. Their economic record since WW2 is at least as good as the Tories. Do some googling and see which party has consistently left the country in most debt whilst in government. Hint… it’s not Labour.

Isn't it funny that the closer we get to the election and the more certain they are to win the more acceptable just continuing to do the same thing but with a different colour background is now being seen as a good way forward? Remember when you used to want Labour to do revolutionary things to help normal people?

Blair put paid that. New Labour which essentially meant similar policies to the Tories but under a red banner than blue.

There's a reason they usually get voted out as soon as they've been voted in.

Well we've only got till December to wait for these to become Labours problem and deal with these sort of things because the Tories are in for a good hiding from the electorate, no matter how Sunak tries to convince those who put their faith in him is working or is going to work.

It’s not a ‘good’ way forward. In an ideal world Labour would want a more radical manifesto than we’re going to get. But it’s a way to ensure that they get the Tories out, by avoiding banana skins and hostages to fortune. I’d much rather they don’t have to do this but it’s a case of needs must. Doing revolutionary things to help normal people will only happen if they get a second term. The first term will be spent sorting out the mess the Tories have made of the economy.

Whenever there's a change of government the economy is in a mess, whether it's blue or red. That's why they get voted out. The global economy isn't controlled by the politicians any more. The real powers behind economics are immune to the pressures of the hardship that the average person has to endure, rather they prosper from these struggles. It's mirrored in football, the more the top end prosper the harder it gets lower down the chain.
