Whatever happens its YET another rebuild job while the man who has had a hand in signing most of this dross will yet again be at the heart of building this new squad.

Btw folk having a go at GA i bet he knows this bunch are piss taking clowns and the players probably know that as well.

I bet Parky had these issues during his first season here and did that turn out that bad.

Highly doubt Pointin is staying if GA is still here.

Heard a whisper this morning, he is returning to Scotland at the end of his contract.
Came from one of my suppliers, who knows the family through the school his children attends.
lots of effort, but never lived up to the expectations.

He lived a few doors down from me until the back end of last year and he's moved over Baildon way. When I last spoke to him before he was moved he said his side and the club had already have brief chats about a new deal but that was maybe Nov/Dec-ish before his injury? Might have changed since. He has a 1 year option though and he said he loves it here. He was selling his house in Edinburgh at the time, and said the family really like it round here and the kids are settled, sounded like they were selling up in Scotland to move here permanently if anything. If he moves on, I don't think it would be back up north unless somethings gone really wrong. But there's plenty of clubs within an hour or so of Bradford. I think the injuries really cloud Walker. He's only played 51% of the possible L2 minutes this season, but has our teams second best G+A per 90 ratio only behind Cook. When he plays, his numbers back up the reason for having him, he just doesn't play enough. If he stays I think we should have a better worked out deal, maybe more appearance based than straight salary.

One thing for him, he seems to be the type of guy you want representing your club. He's always there when a player is asked to help out for the charity bits we do or some shoot for a campaign, he's been an ambassador for things like Her Game Too. Always has time for fans, think he's the type of character you want, but the reliability on the pitch isn't there. I swear he doesn't own any clothes that aren't City related either. In the 2 years or so he lived by me, if he was walking the dog in Saltaire or out in the shops or cutting the grass, he was always in Citys training gear. Saw him out with some mates from back home one Saturday night and his mates had some branded clobber on and he went to the pub in Macron gear with a City gilet on.

Injuries aside, Walker is a key player. Like you say, his G/A ratio adds up to him been an on the pitch asset, sadly we dont see that enough. That said, Im taking the 1 year option on him.....I am a fanboy.

Baildon was mentioned, i knew he lived around Saltaire at one point. I work a lot in the village and used to see him wandering about.
Just what i was told this morning, so not gospel.

But what if we can spend that element of the budget on a player of equal calibre that plays 75% (or more) of games. However good he potential is his regular absence enforced team changes. We need to get a relatively settled team week in week out. Don't get me wrong I rate Walker but think it is now unwise spend on the budget

Feel for Jamie Walker. He's been the victim of two really poor challenges this season, especially the one from the Donny player.

Wouldn't trust Gent to replace him tbh.

I’m not sure the injuries he’s had are injuries that the club could foresee, either now or with any future signings.

He tends to suffer from impact injuries more than anything else - I don’t think it’s injury prone as such, more the type you pick up when you’re putting your body on the line for the team.

The broken bone he suffered at Doncaster a prime example

That said - his talents are wasted in the side we have at the moment when we constantly hoof it

I believe Zac Hadi is higher rated than Heath Richardson and I think we'll only maintain one of those next season.

Jamie Walker has publicly declared today that he is hoping the club offer him a new contract as he wants to stay. He confirmed his family are well settled in the area and want to remain here.

I hope that he and Halliday are offered and accept new contracts.

The rest can go for me

Totally agree. Firstly we cannot build a completely new squad - however many of us would want that, it’s not realistic.

Secondly, when managed correct Walker is a player you can build a successful team on. I get the frustrations of injuries and perhaps not living up to expectations, but the guy cannot do it alone. Look at the shite he’s had around him this season.

For me, Walker (GK), Halliday, Stubbs, Kelly, Gillead, Pattison, Walker, Cook, Young, Kavanagh, Odour and Pointon (on the fence on the last two) - all has the nucleus of a squad (not all starting XI) capable of challenging at the top of the table IF the remaining recruitment is good enough AND there are additional football roles introduced within the club.

Any new contract for Walker should be a lower basic salary topped up by appearances.
He simply doesn’t play enough games and whilst we definitely miss him when he’s out, we can’t afford him to be injured.

I wonder how many more players are married to one of his relatives, like Smallwood is, that he can bring in!

Gent won't replace or sign anyone. He will identify players but Alexander will decide which players we sign, if he is still here. To be fair to Alexander the only player that is his signing is Kavanagh.

Walker gets clattered because of his ability, drive and passion (something that far too many of our squad lack).
The opposition know this and take him out - as per Doncaster.
How can a broken bone in his foot after such tackles be Walkers fault???
Hell, he's the most talented player we've got, or have had for a long time.
    The lad needs another contract.
