Like I said the other day on another thread, the damage sparks and co have done this past couple of seasons will see the young generation of fans abandon us, it has probably taken us almost 25 years to get them interested and now it’ll take us another 25 years

    Absolutely unforgivable

The club would not be able to compete at all in the league with crowds like that, unless significant investment came from Rupp to shore things up. That's the potential to lose nearly two thirds of ST holders in one fell swoop. Bravo City. Great job.

Because we have the weakest fan base in the football league.

Great CEO's recognize issues and how they can ensure that failure isn't likely, move to plug all the gaps, give the managers beneath them whatever they need (within financial reason), and that includes both time and space, as well as a fair start by giving them a job that's possible in the first place.

Terrible CEO's, like Ryan, fail to recognize the issues, don't target areas for improvement beyond what they already want to do, won't give the managers beneath them a fair start (ie, "Dear Graham, please pick up the pieces after I sacked Hughes, these aren't at all the players you would have wanted, and no, the transfer window isn't open either - GOOD LUCK!"), and will simply convince themselves that having a mantra like "failure is not an option" is actually a strategy when it's just meaningless words.

You can't wish success into existence. You can't talk it into reality. You can't promise what you can't deliver. What people like Ryan can do, though, for the good of this particular football club is hand his notice in on Wednesday morning.

What a depressing week. We’ve had a few since I started in 79, but somehow this run of three games has a real tone of “what’s the point?” No one can seriously be looking forward to going to games, no one can be expected to be entertained, who has any enthusiasm? The Owner has kept us afloat, and he didn’t have to do that, but his lack of interest means a lack of direction and lack of leadership allows layers below him to work with, seemingly, no coherent plan. I totally condemn personal attacks, but the CEO is clearly struggling on the football side of things and has done for seasons. I thought Alexander would be a good appointment but some of his decisions appear questionable too, although to be fair he didn’t put this squad together. The players, well, just not enough quality.
Big changes required or nothing changes in decline of our club.

Only after having sacked Gent first. That needs to be his final act.

Spot on and if folk do try to get something going then they are mocked for doing so.

We should have been well done the line of mass protests a couple of montbs ago bit a couple of wins and all is forgotten:(

This will be my 37th year going and now due to two men it will be my last.

This club is on its arse a fooking sham of a club and yet folk are halpy for this to go on :(

It wouldn't make a ton of sense to me, I don't think he should be leaving the next CEO a ton of gaps to fill.

They'll quickly get the measure of whether Gent or Alexander are up to it.

I don't hate anyone that just goes because they enjoy going to football, nor should anyone else.

If someone wants to go and watch a game of football, that's their prerogative.

But they, likewise, aren't entitled to judge those that won't go or even wish to protest.

    These players have given up
No passion, no pride just collect thier undeserved pay.
Just play the youngster who can probably pass the ball instead of getting rid then standing back to watch what happens.
    The players are the problem!

Disagree, the players, like Alexander, have been hung out to dry by the incompetence of Rupp and Sparks.

The greatest employees in the world will look horrendous in a badly failing organisation.

Funnily enough I remember the Notts County home game in March 1996 - Mark Stallard scored for us. The crowd was something like 3,400.

Even under Colin Todd, the crowd was usually 6,000 to 8,000. So yes I think you’re right, we’re looking at crowds at the 6k-8k mark for me next year.

How many season tickets did we sell this year, 14k? We could actually lose 50% of our season ticket holders in the space of one season.

Notts Co had only earned a single point from their last 6 matches, then rock up to VP and absolutely smash us

Cannot honestly see where our next point will come from

Clubs live and die by their recruitment. When we saw some of the players coming through the door last summer, I was peaking from behind the settee as I was scared what dross was coming through the door next. We have all been proven right. GA was absolutely dying to say to Jamie Raynor on the radio tonight “the players are ultimately not good enough” but he had to keep his counsel.
