Some OTT posts today mate, without doubt it was poor form from the club saying there was no need for a pitch inspection then the referee calls it off an hour before kick off, as it turns out I couldn't make it today so looking forward to Tuesday night to kick Doncaster arses again.

 

The pitch quality should form part of the lease negotiations. Landlord serious investment in the pitch or a reduction in rent to allow the tenant to spend on the pitch. Alongside the graded rent dependent upon what division we are in. We need a lever so need to look at alternatives to VP.

 

Julian Rhodes was offered a lower rent in a lower league but turned it down!

 

The maintenance of the ground is down to the club.

The referee was at the ground at 10-15 this morning according to Simon Parker and Notts county manager and he felt that it would be on hence the announcement from City this morning. Obviously the incessant rain scuppered our chances of it being on.

 

Sadly I fear our season may now be over. We had a bit of momentum after some good results/performances going into some big games with playoff rivals (Barrow and Notts). Now both of those games have been called off, we’ll have gone a couple of weeks without a game by the time we play next and any momentum lost.

Add to that the fact that we’re going to have an incredibly jam packed fixture list over the next couple of months, I just can’t see us being able to sustain the run of form required.

 

We are well and truly stuck with that playing surface until the end of the season.
Anyone who thinks we are going to play free flowing football with out injuries sustained to players is living in cloud cuckoo land.
There again I'm sure Graham Alexander will take the blame come rain or shine for using tactics more suitable to rugby league to get ball in the opponents half.

 

Although you are assuming that our, mostly foreign-owned, privatised water companies who have paid out billions to their shareholders but still require huge government subsidies have the capability to capture and store this water!

Keeping on topic, I was actually tempted to go to the match today but decided against it because I wasn't convinced about the pitch. Glad I didn't do the 5 hour round trip for nothing.
