Cook should have bagged two.

Walker was rock solid between the sticks….again.

Banana skin avoided, well done lads.

 

Good move for the goal, shoes what can happen when a keeper releases the ball early. My absolute pet hate when keepers hold the ball and let everyone get back into position. We need to do it more because the option is always there.

 

Enjoyed the game. Gillead did v well.,Tompkinson hot and cold, usual clangers. Great to see Halliday bombing on. Let’s keep this run going!

 

I thought Tomkinson had his worse game In a City shirt today.
Odour had a good game but how he got man of the match ahead of Halliday is beyond me.

 

I don't think the influence of Walker can be overestimated. He's brought great confidence to the defence and that's gradually spread throughout the team. He's not flashy but does everything a keeper should do to a high level. I like his size, his confidence, particularly on crosses, and his vocal organisation. I genuinely think that a lot of the credit for our recent upturn in results is attributable to him. Meanwhile Lewis seems to have continued this season's form at Carlisle. Another clanger today and fans calling for the return of Holy. Feel sorry for the lad. Something's clearly gone badly wrong with him since the playoff defeat.

 

Possibly the superb through ball to Kavanagh leading to the goal that won the match.

 

Game panned out as I expected against a team battling for survival.

Walker, Halliday, Gilliead and Odour the stand out players for me.

Halliday MOTM for me.

As for big Sam in goal. Early days, but he is fast becoming a firm favourite with me. Very calm, yet commanding presence, and for the first time in years, we look to have a keeper who is not afraid of crosses

 

We are a better side with a Walker in the team. Imagine how good we will be when there's two.

 

Oduor had a great game and is proving a lot of people wrong but Halliday MOM for me

 

What about the ball he crossed for Cook to miss an absolute sitter. Right on his head, perfection.

 

Have to agree with that. I didn't mind Odour getting it as it was a very good performance from him but Halliday was at it all game.

 

I would wholeheartedly agree. I thought Halliday was excellent. Cook seemed to have left his shooting boots back in the dressing room, but then he was continuously getting mauled. At times the interaction between him and some of the Sutton defenders looked like something from a website catering for VERY specialised interests....

 

I think it worked today because of the way Sutton play. But it wouldn’t work with a team that wants to play football. I was perplexed by the team he picked partly by injury and suspension but G A got it right

 

Yes, credit where credit is due, he's got the tactics bang on for all 3 games this week.

Said it before but its written in the stars that Carlisle get relegated and we go up via the play offs.

 

I agree. We'll miss Halliday next season.

 

For once I have to disagree, Odour had a great game, well above average. He was even getting tackles in and winning the ball back. Halliday was Halliday , steady and away for sure. It will do Odour the world of good and recognition for his reaction to the kick up the arse GA gave him.

He referred to it in this weeks pre game interview.

The pass that split their defence in half for the goal was something we have been absolutely missing for months . On that basis, he deserved it over Halliday.
