If Cook didn't need 10 chances to score one goal it would be 4.0

Classic at the kiosk in the main stand at half time (which had practically no queue by the way). Bloke in front of me asked for a pie and an onion bhaji. The lass came back with 2 bags of crisps and asked him which one he wanted :joy:.

Not really. It’s always the complete opposite when teams are scrapping for their lives. The last three results , my case in point.

Me for one. That’s three on the trot where I’ve called for someone to be oiked on 45 mins and all three went on to score in the next 45 ! Who knew!;)

Cook today was wasteful to say the least.
We could and should have had another 2 goals if he'd have done the right things.

If you want to show how to win the hard way, that game was it.

    Horrible game. Cook missed sitters.

Odour... Had this best game so far. My MotM.

Lewis and City both played a blinder by getting money from naive owners looking to make statements rather than make sensible deals.

It's a shame we didn't rinse them more by accepting their offer for Young, who is now about sixth in the pecking order for a place in our forward line.

. Purely for balance Steve. Just look how local government funding is allocated. The facts are there. You don’t need to be a nuclear scientist to see that funding for councils all over the north has been cut by 10-15% . Sunak bragged about it at a garden party! “I have found a new way to level up”. It’s on video.

Agree Bronco, a very strange starting line up and highlights some of the deficiencies in certain positions - we can only hope GA is aware of this and will address going forward. When you play a centre back in a holding position in front of a back five something is lacking!
I know it was attritional but on the plus side how often have we slipped up against the bottom side?

You could see from his reaction he was disappointed with those two chances, but fair do's they stuck at it and turned it around.

You quoted this as if it was posted at full-time. I posted it at half-time and it was correct. Kavanagh scored a great goal but he was anonymous in the first half. If you disagree, fair enough but you’re wrong in my opinion

Not the dullest game I've ever seen today, made hard work of getting the win due to a patched up midfield. A draw would probably have been a fair result but all about taking your chances.
Special mentions for the ever dependable Halliday, Clarke Odour and an ever impressive looking Sam Walker in goal. Cook forgetting his scoring boots but I have to admire the shift he put in, running half the length of the field in the last seconds for a potential pass from Wright epitomising a player with a renewed vigour.

Almost worth coming from the Shipley End so you don't have to venture into the city centre. That walk from the interchange to VP is bloody awful

I agree he should have had at least 2 goals, but today he was well up for the battle with their two central defenders.

Hard won game for me today, Sutton United created problems for us in midfield and up to the 18yard line throughout the game. It’s the stage of the season where teams need to grind out results and take your chances when you can. Stockport and Mansfield both lost today against teams where you would think they would win so it shows there is still something to play for this season.

Their number 5 had the better of him most of the game.
